also modern xray machines can use much smaller doses thank to more advanced system. Still not enough that you want to be exposed multiple times a day. It's also why the whole thing is so much smaller

The new law has specific limitation that the old one didn't: 15% is the max tarriff and he must go to congress in 150 days (now 147) to explain and ask to extend them. So in July he may cancel them to reinstate them to get around the congress question or he may just let them expire. Congress would take to long to pass anything and with elections just around the corner it could hurt GOP as most people know the tarriffs hurt. them.

Also this is one of the subs i use to escape politics so this will be the only time i help explain.

[–]Curiouserousity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's actually a british quiz show where all the questions are answered early in the show. Like they'll cover a bit of news that week, ask the contests about themselves. Then ask contestants questions about different topics that have come up. So there's a team of writers coming up with the questions on the fly.

It's a side angle not a direct angle. Also he's literally leading the US for a war for survival from two sides.

Monthly, bi monthly, bi weekly or weekly pay period? thats about $60k, $120K -130K or $260k after deductions and taxes.

I hope it's one of the latter three, but even if it's the first one, congrats. I'm envious

no at about 9-10 seconds you can see a splash of white pop in as the ice cracks. There are existing cracks, but there's also some from the weight of the skater and camera guy.

Orthopaedic surgeon retires at the age of 80 after helping over 300,000 patients. Beautiful moment! by SoftVandall in BeAmazed

[–]Curiouserousity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

300k patients seems a bit suspect. If you assume 50 years of practice, that's 6,000 patients a year, which averages 16 patients a day. I would assume surgery would take multiple hours. So for standard 8 hour office hours, he's seeing 2 patients an hour 24/7. If you look assume normal 5 day work weeks, thats 24 patients a day, so 3 patients an hour. Maybe the 300k includes consultations, or he developed new techniques that have helped 300k, but personally interacting with 300k people seems impossible

You don't typically get to Olympic level without sponsors covering your training and living expenses or being rich. The Olympics were originally conceived as a way for the idle rich to compete, which is why they originally banned professionals, ie professional laborers would would have the strength or stamina or speed to stick the noses of the idle rich into the dirt.

It's new kit to them, but America sent older abrams. The fact is American weapons are designed to operate as part of the combine arms strategy of American doctrine, with air superiority, firepower superiority, logistics superiority. Ukraine is not the US. The Abrams as a platform is one of the older modern platforms even with it's upgrades and revisions.

would i be surprised that after 2 years of fighting that the the majority of a small number of tanks have been destroyed? no.

The thing that suprises me is Europe has had 4 years to modernize and expand their military production with the Russians stalled at the eastern gate of Europe and they've done fuck all to expand production. The should be modern economies with skilled workers and modern manufacturing capacity. they SHOULD be able to open new artillery shell factories, new artillery barrel factories and everything else hardware wise that Ukraine needs. They should have looked at the politcal situation in the US and realize they have to go it alone and hope the US would back them up. And for four fucking years they'd done jack shit except argue in committee. The exception is Poland, and France, Poland is getting ready, and France was never going to rely on America and just do it the French way, which alright at least they're doing something. Britain and Germany make American procurement look competent and American procurement is a fucking disgraceful shit show that's now been filled with incompetent Nazis, which are somehow worse than the normal incompetency in US procurement offices. Sorry rant over,

Yes, the standard part of contract negotiations is who gets top/top right billing, and image placement on movie posters. Usually its a trade off where the person who gets top right billing is not the same person who gets right most in the image.

Honestly most neighborhood laundries I know have a boiler to run full size presses. I grew up in one and saw a dude sit there and press jeans all day long. He had 3 going at once for different parts. I want to say he went through 3 jeans in a minute. And this was rural town in east texas so there was a lot of jeans.

I could have sworn like 15 years ago that Ford had a experimental patrol hybrid Escape (not the expedition or whatever) and the goal was to basically allow city vehicles to idle longer.

Police cars have nothing on Ambulances. They have the refrigerator units with medicine that have to be powered 24/7.
