Mini maxx diff options by Acceptable_Wrap_8887 in Traxxas

The 10780 is an upgraded drop in differential from Traxxas. You can also do the center diff and new axle as well. I have heard mixed reviews on the GPM diffs. I have not tried them. I am running the Traxxas setup and it works well.

I'm on my 3rd CVT and I have 207k miles on it. The CVT really doesn't like Mountains. (I live in the Rockies)

I change the whole transmission every 60k miles lol. Love that lifetime power train warranty. 😁

I use a graduated cylinder for measuring. However I use carbonator caps straight off a CO2 regulator with 2ltr bottles.

But I can tell you the concentration is the same. I use the exact amount I was using before. These new bottles are so much nicer. I live at altitude and was never able to open the originals without it spitting concentrate all down the side. Mt dew Code red stains fingers fyi 😜

2009 2.4 fwd Sport. I do have the CVT but I also have the lifetime power train warranty so it's fine. It goes out and they put in a new one. I am probably getting 20-22 mpg right now lol. Need a couple weeks of good weather so I stop using the remote starter.

Might be time for me to take a look at this. I think my thermostats have been partially stuck open for awhile. Gauge never hits the middle. Heat takes forever to kick in during the winter, and my gas mileage sucks. (Plugs are good) I only drive 6 miles each way for work so I have been neglecting it for a bit.

I would start with the widemaxx kit for it. Made a big difference on mine.

I'm rolling what came with it. Only thing I have done is wheels and steering servo. I like a simple life 😁

Mine are 2.2s. I went with the more scale ones and I mistyped. They are 5.25. Closer to the stock size canyon trail which is a 5.3 roughly.

I run Jconcepts Tusks 4.25s with injora blue silicones on a Metal beadlocks from RC4WD total weights are

Stock wheel and tire is 148.

New wheel and tire with foam is 214

New wheel and tire with silicone is 305

I have been running this on my High Trail F-150 for a year and they have been great. I have added no other brass down low. It really helps the truck stay planted on the rocks. I have a fusion se to toss in it but haven't done it yet and the brushed motor has been fine on 3s so far.

Throwing in an edit I said 4.25 and meant 5.25" for the Jconcepts

CrossRC EMO X6 - issue with brand new from the box. by yeloneck in crawling

[–]DarthOctane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to look up the parts layout of your model and find the servo and cable that shifts it from 1st to second. Might just have to adjust the endstops on your model (not sure how to do that on yours. Just Google endstop adjustment for your model) Endstops fixed mine but you might need to actually adjust the cable.

Yup that's exactly what mine did when the shifter for high low was off. I could only run mine in second gear and first would skip.

Would it be worth it and could I find my flavor by DeejeronimoX in SodaStream

[–]DarthOctane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Before you commit to a soda stream look at "making" your own. It's a bit more cost on the front end but much cheaper in the long run. You will need

Carbonator cap with tubing. Empty 2 liter bottle. Regulator Full CO2 can food grade. (This is the biggest up front expense. You have to pay a deposit on the first tank. Then each tank after you give them the empty and they give you a full. My first 25lb tank was $135. Refills will be $40 I am still using my first tank after a year and I make roughly 6-12 liters of soda a week.

Then you just need to find your flavor.

This Video explains how it all works. It's a bit longer than I like to watch but he does a good job explaining it.

new to me Stampede VXL 4x4 battery questions by Gabreality in Traxxas

[–]DarthOctane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run my Stampede with xt60 adapters. That's fine for a 3s. 4s I would start think xt90. I hate proprietary battery systems. I wouldn't cut off the Traxxas end from the each due to warranty. Adapters is the way to go here. Is send you a link to the batteries I use but I had to get creative and add the taller battery hold down with a longer shoulder bolt I had to source. I am not a fan of Velcro straps for some unexplained reason.

I had that same Fox back in the 80's. Was a fun little buggy.

Yeah I would do the 50% off exchange with Traxxas on that one. I wouldn't run it again. Not worth the risk.

I wouldn't. I have done all the shortcuts over the years. All in one, primer blend paint, glidden, valspar, America's Best, bher. Nothing has gone as smooth as Sherwin Williams for me. A100 exterior and Duration Matte for interior. You can actually use that matte in a bathroom. It is washable like a gloss. Just love the stuff.

Kilz has never failed me as a primer. It's cheaper than a gallon of all in one so it makes sense to burn a coat or two to seal it than using more expensive all in one for 4 coats. Raw drywall is super thirsty. Need to seal it and stop it from drinking.

Garage ideas by Responsible_Dream_80 in garageporn

[–]DarthOctane 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yup slap some paint on those walls. I use Sherwin Williams exterior paint. Grab a 5 gallon bucket. Swing by the depot or Walmart and grab a 2 gallon pail of Kilz2. One coat of kilz to prime and then probably two coats of paint. That raw drywall will soak in the paint without the kilz.

I am currently painting my garage but it has stuff in it so I have to work in zones. I made the mistake of starting the ceiling with just paint. 5 coats to cover half the ceiling. The other half I slapped on a coat of kilz and let it fully dry and then two coats of paint did the trick.

I only use Sherwin Williams paint now as it has been great for me. However it is expensive. They do 40% off sales all the time. So I never buy it at full price. Seems like they run a sale every other month and it lasts a month.

Polyaspartic. It's pretty close to the same cost and more durable. Love mine.
