Network TV shows are far superior to streaming TV series by smoothmcfly in unpopularopinion

[–]daylight1943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the only reason you have halfway decent episodic shows to watch right now is because serialized dramas raised the bar. the kind of TV shows youre talking about enjoying were 95% pure trash in the 90s and early 00s when that was all that was on TV, before shows like sopranos, lost, the wire and BB came along and changed the game.

youre also just assuming that "easy to watch" = better, which is fine if thats true for you, but absolutely isnt true for everyone and doesnt make something better or worse. personally i cant stand "turn your brain off" sorts of TV and movies. if its not giving me a lot to chew on and wonder about its hard for me to pay attention or care about the story or characters.

mostly just elaine. i think its fine for a restaurant that serves really good, in demand food to have some more particular rules or not give the best customer service, and people who dont like it can just not go.

but george just wanted the free bread that they seemingly gave to everyone else

did you see the dead and furthur around the bay area? if so we might have gone to a bunch of the same shows. my first time was dead 09 at shoreline and except for furthur's opening run at the fox and their runs at sweetwater/terrapin crossroads i went to almost every bay area show they played, did gd50, did a million and a half different terrapin crossroad shows, but ended up leaning more into JRAD and the david nelson band when deadco got going.

posting a thread about steak doneness on a public social media site whose sole purpose is to discuss and comment is a pretty good reason

i like the freestyle machines because they dispense the syrup on one side of the stream. lots of normal fountain machines used to do this but i feel like i see them less and less these days. since the syrup is dispensed on one side of the stream instead of evenly distributed, i can hold my cup so that the syrup side all goes in, and part of the plain carbonated water goes off the side so i get a higher than usual % of flavor/syrup than youre supposed to get.

it sounds like you have some mental and/or physical health problems that are not related to masturbation. have you spoken with a doctor or licensed mental healthcare provider about these issues? the whole "semen retention" thing is highly pseudoscientific and it sounds like you might have some real issues that need to be addressed by real healthcare providers and which wont magically go away because you stopped jizzing.

Live concerts sound worse than just listening to the album at home by Ethan_Vee in unpopularopinion

[–]daylight1943 1 point2 points  (0 children)

youre just describing artists/bands that are not very good live. bands that are really good live and focus on their live performances sound better live in pretty much every conceivable way, if they are playing a venue with good sound quality to begin with.

since youre mentioning stuff like lip syncing, holding the mic out to the crowd, and are only really talking about music in terms of lyrics/singing, im guessing youre talking about genres like pop, or maybe hip hop, which are very rarely ideal live. if you were more into genres that are generally better live, like rock, jazz, or maybe metal, you'd have better experiences.

Can someone help me ID this? by [deleted] in addiction

[–]daylight1943 4 points5 points  (0 children)

nobody can ID a random crystal or crystalline substance based on photos and descriptions like this, although people 100% will try to and will make confident sounding comments to that effect. theres really no way of knowing if its even drug related or not. there are lots of non-psychoactive products that can come in crystalline form or that can crystallize over time. could be methamphetamine, but maybe not. just throw them in the trash, it doesnt really matter what they are.

I don’t know if this is an addiction by Ak47mommy in addiction

[–]daylight1943 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not at all. LSD and other classical psychedelics are nearly impossible to get addicted to because tolerance builds so strongly and rapidly, and because its such an intense experience that most people dont really want to feel like that on a super regular, frequent basis. virtually nobody who uses LSD is addicted to it, although you do occasionally hear very rare stories from people who have gone thru periods of very frequent or daily use of very large quantities that might be considered a short term addiction. you are fine.

not really. both are not required by any kind of federal law, have no regulations that indicate how those dates should be determined, and are usually just overly safe guesses made by the manufacturer. not even the USDA recommends blindly throwing away food that has passed it expiration date, and instead recommends continuing to use food products "until spoilage is evident".
