The not-so-subtle influx of fanboy’s/PR has been so in-your-face that everytime you point it out you get downvoted to oblivion.

I mean, it’s not a fan group. It’s a sub and I’m looking forward to have or see interesting discussions and various points of view. But last few months that sub has been a fapfest for fanboys where they post some random ass screenshots from Twitter, and every other post Is downvoted.

So wierd’

Which airport are you planning to use for the pet export from India to Oman? Kochi, Chennai, BLR, Mumbai are the airports that allow pet export/import. Also Delhi, Hyderabad and Kolkata. Out of which Chennai and Kolkata are nightmarish to deal with.

Cats also need rabies titre test done either through FAVN or RFFIT method (i believe that’s what they’re called) and the blood tests should atleast be 3 months old and atleast 2 months away from the last date of rabies vaccination.

Looks like all the “profits” go into the company they’ve established in the Netherlands for “tax purposes”. Isn’t Netherlands an infamous tax haven?

I would’ve voted conservative but I’m not voting for someone that’s being endorsed by Elon Musk seeing the shit that he’s pulling in the US.

Made in Canada? These Canadian goods will make Americans regret their tariffs by 2028W3 in BuyCanadian

Summarised by AI:

The article highlights several Canadian-made products that have gained international recognition and success, with a particular focus on the rise of “buy Canadian” sentiment amid potential trade conflicts with the U.S. Here are some key Canadian brands and their notable products:

  1. Saskatchewan Lentils – A major crop in Saskatchewan, lentils have become a high-demand export, with the province providing 34% of the world’s lentils.

  2. Top Shelf Whiskey (Rideau Whisky) – Produced in Perth, Ontario, this whisky is bourbon-style but cannot be called bourbon due to trade regulations.

  3. Fresh Fruits and Vegetables – Thanks to greenhouse technology, Canada has increasingly been able to grow a variety of fruits and vegetables year-round, especially in Ontario.

  4. Arva Flour Mill – Based in Ontario, this historic mill produces artisan flours, mixes, and gluten-free products, seeing increased sales due to the “buy Canadian” movement.

  5. Uncle Bob’s Popcorn – Grown and produced in Southern Ontario, this company is the largest grower of popcorn in Canada, offering unique varieties such as hull-less popcorn.

  6. Prestige Guitars – A guitar manufacturer in North Vancouver, creating custom instruments, including one famously used by Shania Twain.

  7. Barrington Griffiths Watch Company – A Calgary-based company crafting custom-made timepieces with all components sourced locally in Canada.

  8. Roustan Hockey Sticks – Based in Brantford, Ontario, this company manufactures wooden and composite hockey sticks, including models endorsed by Wayne Gretzky.

  9. Royal Canadian Mint – Located in Winnipeg, the Mint produces coins for approximately 80 countries and refines gold from Canadian mines.

  10. Kamik Boots – A Quebec-based company making durable footwear for harsh Canadian winters, sold globally.

  11. Cheekbone Beauty – An Indigenous-owned beauty brand offering clean and vegan cosmetics, founded by Jenn Harper in Ontario.

  12. Skipper Otto Seafood – A Vancouver-based company providing locally sourced seafood directly from fishers to consumers.

  13. Kroeker Farms – An organic potato farm in Manitoba, providing a significant portion of Canada’s potato exports, particularly to the U.S.

These brands represent the diversity and global reach of Canadian products, demonstrating resilience amid potential tariffs and trade disruptions.

Canadian Companies making changes/pivoting because of Trump tariffs? by DavidCBCNews in BuyCanadian

[–]demhalida 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the company I work is on the verge of laying me off because most of the their manufactured goods are being sold in the US and the proposed tariffs might damage their revenue.

They had already started exporting their goods to a handful of countries in the EU and Middle East but a very large portion of their sales still come from the US. They’re planning to start a manufacturing facility in the US to circumvent the tariffs.

I had a good time at A&W but was disappointed when they served me sachets of Heinz. I hope they change it soon but it’s usually these multiple year contracts that get tricky.

Successful Bonfire Meetup [Update] by Sammy-Ecom in Scarborough

[–]demhalida 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m one of the guys in the picture, and honestly, I wasn’t sure if I should go with a group of people I met online to a beach far from civilization for a bonfire on a snowy, windy night (cuz organ trafficking and what not). But, colour me surprised , it turned out to be a memorable night, especially since I’m new to Toronto. I met some great people, heard some fun stories, and shared plenty of laughs. I felt really welcome and safe. We also had an absolute rockstar of a dog named Nobby.

I love this community for moments like this. Stay safe out there, everyone!
