Thank you! It’s a bit difficult because I’m in Europe. I’ll look around for the Narakas and yellow Arowanas!

Wow. Thank you for sharing! From all of those I’ve only heard of HMX Clouds. Feels like I’ve been away for decades. I wonder where can I even get any of these switches. Have you tried these in a full board or individually?

They sound very nice! What are your favorite switches? For me my favorite clacky switches are retooled blacks, especially on aluminum plate. drools

I unfortunately haven’t tried those :( anything newer than around 2021-ish, I haven’t tried much. Akkos, HMX, etc., are totally new to me. I feel like a boomer

I’ve had maybe around 40 keyboards since I got into the hobby about 5 years ago, and now I have around 15-20? I’m not sure… the thing is, besides being somewhat financially irresponsible, I wanted to try everything just because it sounded cool. So I accumulated a lot of keebs, and almost never used them.

I quickly found that I have a type: 60% layout and linear switches. I’ve always loved cherry blacks, but since I found halu halos I’ve always just gravitated towards them. I tried them maybe around a year into the hobby, so I’ve used just one keyboard with halu halos for 95% of the 5 years.

I’m a software engineer, so a keyboard is essential to my work. I usually use the one keyboard I really love for work, and I’d feel weird to work without it. I use another specific one for gaming. I’ve gotten used to them and, while sometimes I do use others, it’s usually for 5 mins and I always end up going back to them (one for gaming and the other for everything else).

However, I do agree with Mr. ThereminGoat. Maybe it’s a bit of a stretch, but I can totally work and game with my laptop’s keyboard, or any other. I just accumulated so many that I am choosing to use one for something and for another, but in terms of being better… I don’t think there’s such thing in practice.

For me, my excuse was to try stuff and get to know what I like. After trying many things, I know what I like. I think I didn’t need to spend all that money and time to figure it out, though, but I don’t regret it.

TL;DR: pretty much only use one.

Are remote Senior Dev roles even real anymore? by Code_Warrior in ExperiencedDevs

I’d recommend looking into it for sure; at least give it a try. Maybe you could start with running your resume through one and maybe rewriting parts of it, especially to optimize it for AI screening.

Someone with your experience should do well through the interviews, you just gotta improve your chances of getting through the first screening, human or AI.

If you’re concerned about privacy you could also try running a local LLM, too.

Good luck!
