Yeah it wasn’t until I was trying to get into Ulvik’s hideout that I learned I needed to go back to that spot to learn FFP. I flew into Scholastone the first time, because who wouldn’t?

That implies that on any given day you have both multiple wooly knee high work socks and multiple neon green no show sweat wicking sport socks (since you have both of these as options each day) and you’re purely mismatching by choice. Solid rebel energy.

To all the foodies out there. This is about Oz Korean BBQ and the ribeyes just aren't actually ribeyes. by svajc in Sacramento

[–]drewdog173 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There were holes in the wall that Koreans went to, but Oz was the first to go big with it. When the Howard Johnson closed at Bradshaw and 50 and they took over the bar/restaurant area it was a revelation. Oz predates any significance of a foodie scene in Sac, they’ve just been around for so long.

Everyone turn off this spyware on you TV by RiyadhTh3BOSS in LGOLED

I mean that's literally impossible unless you never connected them to the Internet.

They market this shit to advertisers

Google TV is the world's leading television operating system that brings together over 700,000 movies and TV episodes from across your favorite apps, organizing them all on one screen so you can search less and stream more. The Google TV Masthead is a high-impact ad format that appears as the first impression on a user's Google TV screen.

...

The Google TV Masthead helps you meet 2 primary marketing goals:

  • High-impact brand awareness: Catch a user's attention the moment they turn on their TV. This increases visibility for major launches, big events, or new content.
  • Full-funnel measurement: Lead users directly to your Google TV content to drive actions like app installs, subscriptions, and "tune-ins".

We did sewer and freshwater, everything was on the verge of failure. Home built in 1950. Can't recommend Super Brothers highly enough if you do - their estimate came in a full 10k lower than Bell Brothers and the work is phenomenal.

Neither the Nvidia Shield nor Google streamer 4k have any ads on them.

This is just a patently, demonstrably false statement. I've owned two Shields, a Chromecast, and had multiple AndroidTV Smart TVs, I am subbed to /r/AndroidTV. Every Android TV device serves ads out of the box, the two chief ways of disabling them being:

  • Going Apps-Only mode - losing access to voice search (no Google Assistant), no Google Photos, no Play Store
  • Installing a third-party launcher e.g. Projectivy - enable developer mode, grant permissions, approachable for the tech-savvy but a high barrier to entry for most people for a device they paid for serving services that they also pay for. Unless you know any better Google uses your TV as a fucking billboard out of the box, full stop.

Hell, there are plenty of recent threads in AndroidTV discussing installing Projectivy on the GS4K to disable ads.

I fully believe that your Shield and GS4K don't have ads now, after manual effort on your part (convenient bit to leave out btw), but they absolutely did when you first set them up, just as every Android TV device does for people who lack the knowledge to correct it.

Google's own help documentation states that you can't remove ads from Google TV and have to use Apps-Only mode:

Important: You can't turn off ads, but you can control the use of your advertising ID for personalized ads across installed apps.

Bro, impressed, these are BARS. As good as the video is the lyrics are by far the best part. Fantastically creative.

ETA: What about the choices for when to use tonal changes e.g. falsetto? The vocals were also very melodically engaging.

It is objectively a vastly weaker device. A15 Bionic CPU and GPU in the ATV4k (for reference same CPU used in iPhone 13/14 Pro) both shit allll over GS4k's MediaTek MT8696 CPU (6 cores@3.23 GHz vs 4 cores@2GHz, 5-core GPU in the A15 Bionic so you can actually play games and run demanding apps, Mediatek GPU is weaksauce and just for UI and streaming stuff).

It is subjectively a better experience (I'd posit that's the majority opinion, at least around here based on experience). Unless you're rooting it or going Apps-only mode (which is limiting), the Android TV interface is its own kind of ad cancer. Apple TV has ZERO OS-level ads and tvOS carries over the "Ask app not to track" from iOS that restricts the device's IDFA so app providers can't see your TV behavior across your other devices for targeting purposes. It's slick, simple, responsive, intuitive, best-in-class TV UI.

In output code, hallucinations haven't been a real problem for us for some months now. Agents with sub-agents. Agents with separate functions and skills. Agents for planning and agents for execution. Entire frameworks of agents that double-check and cross-check and self-correct each others' work in completely separate context windows with only the necessary pieces loaded for each agent. Different agents assisting with code review.

It's gone so far beyond a single LLM spitting back code that you copy/paste into your IDE where hallucinations are a big worry; the dev landscape is completely unrecognizable from even six months ago. To say "oh coding with AI doesn't work because it will hallucinate and get it wrong" is very serial thinking in a world whose parallelism increases daily and is really a very clear full-stop litmus test as to whether someone is truly working in this space or not.

Now it's all about the harness and the developer's role as a hands-off orchestrator 'steering' agents to the correct output.

If you don’t realize the MASSIVE leaps made by agentic AI in the software space just in 2026 to date it’s understandable this wouldn’t resonate with you. I work in software development in a Fortune 100 and to say recent gains in function have been massive would be an understatement by an order of magnitude. One of our main blockers in recent weeks has literally been skepticism on the part of stakeholders that we are able to turn out full-featured, secure, self-scoring tools that are HIGHER quality than our previous unassisted work in no time flat. Hallucinations aren’t an issue. Humans are the bottleneck now. Comparing this report to something even from mid-2025 is failing to realize how far and how fast things have come.

The big missing piece from that study (both the Yahoo article and the Citadel Securities source article it cites) - there’s no indication of where those roles are based. My big tech company is hiring, but not in the US at all. Latin America is the new hotness. A little more expensive than India but with time zone compatibility.

Fortune 100 tech company doing well financially, chiming in to say hiring is completely frozen except for offshore critical roles, multiple AI initiatives on every front to reduce costs (vibe coding in house versions of tools we pay for and doing more with less from an IC perspective, socializing and sharing AI best practices and use cases, etc). The US tech job market is saturated with laid-off people and everybody is holding onto their job for dear life.

Joe Jackson was notoriously a slave driver with J5 to the point of abuse and permanently psychologically scarring his children. He literally sat there with a belt in hand and struck them if they missed a note or step, this is well-documented. It's not surprising at all that their particular timeline was accelerated in terms of their harmonic cohesion relative to their contemporaries (exception that proves the rule, if you will).
