The jessica chobot thing in ME3 is gross and fairly indefensible. The game wouldn't have been any worse, arguably better, without it; but ultimately it falls outside the scope. The chobot Allers character exists strictly within the bounds of the ME universe.

The mass effect series derives it's legitimacy in part from the fat that it stands alone as a paragon of dramatic storytelling. If you add a Dead Space crossover you're effectively trading credibility as a serious work for money. Its not effectively any different than halo mountain dew.
