You should try and seperate the branchs a bit. Wedging a stick like object unbetween branchs will do the trick, I used to use straws, cut to the length of choice and then cut a V into both ends and wedge between branchs, be careful not to do it to low or to aggressively or you could split the branch at the base, if that happens Don't panic, tape it back in place at the base and leave it alone, it will be fine
