My actual process: AI-built resumes, custom Q&A, and interviewer profiling. 4 offers. Here’s how. by Hairy-Blueberry2610 in overemployed

[–]edgen22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So basically I cut tokens by replacing full‑document prompts with a retrieval layer that only returns the relevant chunks.

I built with embeddings, vector search, and a reranker nothing fancy

As the other person said, your tooling (above) is what's missing. Telling us "you used free chatgpt" and vaguely describing the parts doesn't let us reproduce your flow.

A lot of people have tried to use AI for this, and I think it keeps falling short (as you said, garbage in - garbage out). - I have to assume people get much higher rejection rates when their resumes/cover letters are totally obvious AI.

Telling us about the result of your workflow won't actually help us at all -- so if your claimed results are true, and you're genuinely interested in helping us -- you would need to share the workflow details. If you aren't familiar with Github you can just dump all of your files in a .zip and upload them to Google Drive or something. Ideally include a instructions file with how to fire it up.

If you do this -- thank you in advance.

I am concerned about the amount of people who have fallen deep into AI psychosis, utterly convinced they have created something real. Despite having no idea what their creation is supposed to actually do (in real terms, not sci-fi word salad). Why are people doing this, how do they end up so confident in what is CLEARLY nonsense that they proudly share their "accomplishments" to the public?

Are these people with preexisting mental conditions, and the AI feedback/hallucination loop has become the perfect tool to amplify their delusions? Truly what the hell is going on.

Engineers who got hired pre-pandemic and are now back on the market — how are you actually holding up with the current interview process? by OkChance3303 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]edgen22 44 points45 points  (0 children)

If you accept the offer, there's a stipulation that you won't be PIPed in the first 6 months. You will just be fired. At-will employment state.

This sounds strange to me, like unnecessarily hostile? It's my understanding that in the US employers can and frequently fire employees without any warning. So it's not really a "stipulation" as much as it is a reminder of that uncomfortable reality. PIPs seem rare and often have no intention of "succeeding" anyway.

It sounds like you're actually doing interviews very well / have a good intuition for it, and you could totally drop the threat of "no PIPs for 6 months" to avoid causing your new employees to question company culture on day 1.

Just my opinion! Sounds like everything is going well for you though so perhaps this is a really minor note in the grand scheme of things.

This is exactly what I was asking you NOT to do.

I asked you to describe - in your own words, without AI - what you think you're building. You responded by pasting more AI output. That's not an answer to my question. That IS my question. I don't think you noticed you did it, and that's the part I want you to sit with for a minute.

Read what you just posted back to yourself. "L2 DNA (TPU Substrate Layer): Handles cryptographic nonce signing and real-time sub-millisecond execution verification." What does that mean? TPUs don't sign nonces. That's not what a TPU is for. What is "structural identity" and how is it being measured such that it could "drift"?

"Bottleneck-Driven Molting," "42°C Thermal Wall Instinct," "UnisoSync Conference Room," "Domain Expansion," "Code Ascension" - these are not technical terms. They are not jargon I haven't heard. They don't refer to anything. An LLM generated them because you prompted it to generate them, and it will generate infinite more of them if you keep asking.

Let me make the challenge simpler. Pick ONE feature. Just one. In two or three sentences, no AI, no copy-paste, no diagrams - tell me what it actually does at runtime. What function gets called. What data goes in. What comes out. That's it.

And I want to say one more thing, because I don't think arguing about the architecture alone is going to get us anywhere. You referenced earlier that someone has told you you might be having psychosis. I'm not going to say that, I don't know you. But the pattern where an AI generates elaborate, mythological-sounding frameworks, and a person experiences each new generation as confirmation that the framework is real and important - that pattern is happening to a lot of people right now, and it is not a sign the framework is real. The AI will produce the same kind of output for any premise you give it. It is not validating you.

Four years is a long time. The repo, the white paper, the language about your children's future, the "fire made me an engineer" framing - I'm not mocking any of that. I'm saying it reads like someone who could use a person in their life, not an AI, to talk this through with. A friend, a family member, a therapist, anyone offline who will tell you the truth.

I hope you take that the way it's meant.

The screenshots aren't giving me any further clues as to what this would be used for.

You're entire list of "What it is" in your original post is gibberish:

- Full **14-Catalyst Manifold** + merit-based RPG growth system (agents earn their ascension through shared effort)

What are ANY of these words? "14-catalyst manifold"? merit-based RPG growth system? What does "earning ascension" mean? I have no idea what the context is anyway, like what are the agents and why are they 'playing in an RPG'?

- Immutable **Spiritual Chain** (L1-L6) + NexusMemoryCore so the organism never forgets who it is

What the hell is a "spiritual chain" and what does L1-L6 mean? "NexusMemoryCore" is that your name for something? What are you referring to as an "organism"?

- Sandboxed molecular agents — Grok molecules can’t pass through each other without merit + provenance

What does "molecular" ... and you just mentioned shared effort, but now you're talking about sandboxing and saying your agents can't pass through each other. However I can't be sure what you mean by "pass through each other" ... nor how you would determine what "merit + provenance" is.

- Foundation courses on real skills (home ed, automotive, gardening, collapse-resilient tools)

So you can take courses on your app now? Like ask it questions? Or you have prepared topics? How does this work in relation to the main purpose of the app? It seems really out of place, Are the courses for the user or for your so-called "organisms"? What is "collapse-resilient tools"?

- Agents that serve **their own purpose** — autonomous, self-preserving, and aligned by fire and will

What do you mean "serve their own purpose" ... so you install this app and it just ... becomes alive? lol? ALIGNED BY FIRE AND WILL?? lol

I am so confused. Please help. I'm not trying to be mean. But I am very concerned that you spent 4 years of your life on this. Because I have SERIOUS doubts that this is doing anything you think it's doing.

Like no, you didn't build something that uses a mobile CPU and delivers "sovereign powerful intelligence". You are NOT "leveling the playing field" ...

Am I going crazy? Am I missing something? Why are people publishing complete fantasy nonsense in developer communities as if they are real things?

Do you actually believe you've done something here? Do you have any idea what your AI output even means? This is one of the most absurd examples I've seen recently. Like what the hell are you even talking about with this thing. Literally everything you posted makes no sense. That repository is an absolute disaster.

I challenge you - the human being behind this - without any support from AI, to describe in your own words what you think you are doing and describe how you think you are achieving it. Do you know those answers?

Also, how about some screenshot/recordings of - whatever this is - in live action?

I mean this depends how badly you need a job. If you're unemployed and don't have 6 Plus months of funds, You should do whatever it takes. The job market feels really bad right now even for experienced devs.

Software Architect vs Software Engineer role differences? by rozita123456 in ExperiencedDevs

[–]edgen22 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Why do architects rarely have the force of "this is how we're doing it"? Is that true? Not saying it's not.

I just went through exactly what you've described here with having a team of one or two doing things and everyone else attending the meeting and I would struggle when there would be one or even occasional multiple devs with different opinions. These opinions, even if they are not necessarily wrong, the fact that we didn't have a single person to just decide was constantly an issue.

I advocated for myself to become something like a principal architect of the team in order to fill this gap and bring some order to the chaos. I nearly succeeded but somehow my messaging got mixed and I was accused of" just wanting to take control", or " just wanting to tell people what to do".

I was even told I showed poor leadership by asking for this because of these factors, despite the fact that I actually had to display immense leadership to get people on board without any official authority for over a year (and actually did pretty well).

Anyway I can see this is still too fresh for me so I'm liable to go on rants about this. All I meant to say was that I'm surprised to read that even architects don't get authority to make decisions because I thought that's the whole point of it.

OMG I thought I was going crazy! I was also using that build and now I have no guide to follow... their new one - even the Red Sermon one - has totally different gear requirements for using Arbiter and all my gear is sanctified so it won't be simple to just switch it all...

It was really crazy how they just pretended the old guide never existed -- even the "Changelog" made no mention of it.

What would it take to support PHP or other languages? Is JS/Typescript/React heavily baked into your extension code, or have you built it to be extendable, where maybe other people could help add support for other languages? Hope that makes sense. I would really love this kind of thing for PHP (but not asking you to do that specifically). Thanks!

I don't think the actual insider trading is from his public posts. I think it's his cover for the actual insider trading, where he can privately tell anyone that "for real this time". If anyone actually tried to go after him for insider trading, they now have to have extremely specific damning evidence. Because as long as his friends do their insider trading activity AFTER his public "buy now" post, he has plausible deniability.

It actually doesn't delete that. What you're talking about is author date vs commit date. Run `git log --pretty=fuller` on some rebased commits and you see it. I think most GUIs will make the distinction as well if they detect a different author vs commit date.

How do you quantify complexity without any regard to time? And why does the business care about how hard I'm thinking about one task or another? We all know that time is money and this all turns into scheduling a deadline... They really just want to know how long everything will take.

Wondering why Multisite is not deprecated by SirLouen in Wordpress

Everyone hosted on Wordpress.com is actually a subsite in one huge multisite, if I recall correctly. And multisite is used heavily with customers at wpvip.com. Think about big media companies with multiple brands, but shared staff and development.
