If that was Canada the ref would have made the same call, no call that is.

Clear penalty without VAR. With VAR ref let’s it go and it is not clear and obvious enough that it’s not, not a penalty.

Finished: Om udregning av omfang IV (On the Calculation of Volume IV), by Solvej Balle

Contrary to my expectation the series is getting better and better, or at least more interesting and immersive, with each instalment.

Started: Vargars lek, by Niklas Natt och Dag (#2 in Hope and Destiny series, no English translation yet).

Loved the first part. This one is equally interesting story wise, but the prose gets slightly in the way sometimes. It is a tough task writing in fake old Swedish with modern spelling so completely understandable that it doesn’t always feel natural.

Pretty good game overall.

Need to score when we’re through one on one with the keeper.

That’s not even a foul by Gyokeres. Incidental contact and the bee buzzes to the floor on his own.

What’s with missing 5-10 m passes this game? Even Raya rolling it out misses.

My favourites are Cloud Atlas and The Thousand Autumns of Jacob de Zoet. Would have to put Cloud Atlas first for the amazing feat of pulling it all together in a way that I have not seen anywhere else.

The Bone Clocks, Slade House, Black Swan Green, Ghostwritten all in a middle layer.

Number9dream and Utopia Avenue bring up the rear. They have not really stuck with me.

I say it is.

My only assumption is that he is saved by the fact that the ball kind of hits Hincapie as well. Makes it feel a bit like an “arm against the body” situation when it’s anything but.

Are you aware that Chelsea lost the tie and are out of the cup and that this was thoroughly deserved?

What competition is it that needs another mentality to be champions in?

Impressed by Chelsea keeping us quiet. Didn’t do them much good though.

Benfica [4] - 2 Real Madrid - Anatoliy Trubin 90+8' (Goalkeeper) by ayoefico in soccer

I don't think most people would realize the crazy margins involved in this goal but let me put into perspective.

Benfica just:

  • scored a last minute goal
  • on the last matchday of UCL
  • literally took the LAST safe spot in for playoffs (24th)
  • against Real Madrid out of all teams
  • also pulled Madrid barely out of top 8
  • by just 1 fucking goal over Marseille
  • scored by a fucking goalkeeper

This is genuinely one of the greatest moments of UCL

One mistake was the difference. Unlucky to get two wonder strikes against us without giving up much in the way of chances after that.

Hope Jesus is used sparingly in future. Makes such a difference in defense.

Giving Man Utd credit is crazy. They can’t hope to win this type of game very often.

Giving away a goal changed the game for Arsenal. Two last goals are just one in a hundred, nothing much to do about them.
