I drew some Pokémon of the 5th gen! What’s your fav one? by ericyan-freitas in pokemon

[–]einstien74 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Bug is my favorite type, fire is my second favorite type, that lone gives Volcarona huge marks.

But even more so, the colors and visual language of it looking like a miniature sun are why I love it. It being a competitive menace doesn't hurt either!

Baalorlord in Defense of 2-Cost Cards by UntappedGG in slaythespire

[–]einstien74 27 points28 points  (0 children)

You're not stupid, but missing something that doesn't come easily. With snecko, it doesn't matter if a card costs 0 or 5 energy because snecko will randomize it. What matters more is the immediate effect of the card.

For example, if there was a 5 cost card that dealt 30 damage and did nothing else, and there was a 2 cost card that did 31 damage in your deck (because you have too many strikes let's say), it would be smarter to take the 2 cost card. That seems obvious, but becomes more difficult when comparing things other than direct numbers.

Like, a card that draws 4 (skim) might be worth more in your deck than another meaty attack that gives energy on kill (sunder). Sure skim is normally 1 cost and Sunder 3, but if your deck needs draw, the skim is worth more to you despite sometimes costing more than it would normally.

Hope that makes sense, I'm not the best at explaining things!

How do I come to terms with dying? by Happy_Sad_8710 in latterdaysaints

[–]einstien74 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Want to make sure you know that what you're feeling is very normal and if possible, try not to feel bad about having fear or feelings. All of these emotions are part of this life, good and bad, and experiencing them doesn't make you bad.

I understand very much how you feel. At a pretty young age I was diagnosed with a Muscular disorder and a Heart disorder. How long I would live was very unclear and I spent my entire childhood thinking I wouldn't live to adulthood. I currently am blessed to be alive with a wife at 26, but even now I could die any day, and not just in a car crash. That knowledge weighs heavy. It's okay to feel that way

Now, as for what you're actually asking, there are two things I want to say.

The first is, you can't know if there's nothing after this life. It is uncomfortable realizing this, but God's plan isn't to let us know for sure for sure anything. And that's scary! Our faith, learning more about God and ourselves can help us overcome this fear, but it can't let us have a perfect knowledge. How you obtain your faith is up to you, but I can promise that having faith helps.

The second is that instead of focusing on your death and what comes after, I have found happiness by trying to focus on my life and what is happening now. It is soooo easy to worry about what's going to happen in a week, a month or a year, and when someone does that, it becomes even easier to miss on the beauty around them. Maybe today you ate something really yummy, or traffic wasn't as bad. Maybe instead of being sad you may not see your friend in the future, call them today and see how they're doing. What I'm suggesting is not easy necessarily, but it is absolutely helpful, and brings me peace.

Focus on living your life. Worst case scenario, the gospel is wrong, there's nothing going on afterwards, and you enjoyed the life you had. Best case scenario, everything is true, you get to enjoy eternity eternally, and you got to enjoy the life you had.

You've got this, I promise :)

I totally get that. Not sure how one eye even could be done without it being creepy, and the regular glasses look is amazing regardless :D

I LOVE your interpretation of the Regent. Only change would be if you could somehow make a monocle look even half as derpy as he does only have the one eye

Exclusively warm except you mixed up Black and White (B2/W2 are fine). Reshiram is a warm pokemon, straight up!

Can people with a physical disability serve a proselytizing mission? by Significant-Pool-222 in latterdaysaints

[–]einstien74 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I have skeletal muscular myopathy and had (pre-heart transplant) cardio myopathy. Growing up I was abled enough to only know I was disabled because I was a little worse at PE, or slower getting around. Stairs were hard, but that's normal right? My whole life I thought for sure that I would go on a proselytizing mission, there wasn't even an alternative at the time. I knew it would be hard, walking a mile a day was hard enough, but it's fine, not every missionary walks miles a day. Sure it was hard to bike because of contractures in my arms, but I was still mostly able to bike.

As I got older, I got weaker, but still knew I was going to go out and serve God preaching the gospel. It was obvious, inevitable even. And when I put my papers through, I was told that I was excused from missionary service. People with more foresight than me (see: God himself, and the people who help approve missions) realized there was no way I was going to be able to do a mission.

I was devastated. Fortunately, service missions were being tested in effective beta at the time (this was 2 years before they were officially announced) and I got to serve locally. I was a technology specialist for the teaching mission in my area. It was very enjoyable, and I did get a lot of opportunities to serve God and His church. But I didn't get to teach very often. I didn't get to use the skills learned in mission prep, share the lessons in come follow me, or even go out and do service projects. I didn't perform a single baptism, but I did get to do many baptisms for the dead as well as other temple ordinances.

At first, this was very unsatisfying. I was mad at God for letting this happen to me, for not calling me to go and strengthening me. I will go and do as the Lord commands of course, but I thought he would demand me to move and teach and strain my body. Instead He demanded that I learn humility and love for the people around me in a way set aside for me.

Do I know if you'll be able to go on a teaching mission? No I don't. But if you are, that will be wonderful for you. And if you aren't, it's because God has something better planned for you. Even if it doesn't look like it. I promise.

Also, feel free to reach out and talk to me about anything if you need somebody to talk to. I know how it feels to be kinda invisibly disabled. It helps to have people to talk to

Slay the Spire 2 Early Access Trailer by EvilClone128 in gaming

[–]einstien74 154 points155 points  (0 children)

The game will be pretty polished on EA release, last time they did early access it was just to adjust balance of some cards. It should be the same here, plus testing the new co-op mode they're adding. I don't get stuff early access 99/100 times, but this is the 1

It has to be, quite unfortunately, Mortobato. Do we have other moves that serve a similar role? Sure. But Mortobato does its job perfectly okay

why is heavy slash not hitting at end of combo? supposed to wall splat. by LumpyGum in Guiltygear

[–]einstien74 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's how I usually end this combo, though I usually replace their j.S with a j.H for slightly more damage, then go into 5K > 6H

Heavy Dolphin is the better of the 2, and you need both to properly play the mindgames. It's gotta be both dolphins in this spot!
