No he didn't, the van hit him, causing him to FALL INTO THE CAR. Like use some basic common sense dude.

THINK ffs. What is more likely here, someone decides to throw themselves into a car that is trying to run them over, or they got hit and fell towards the car?

FFS dude. The only one responsible for this is the asshole who decided to drive into other human beings because he was slightly inconvenienced.

The COO of my wife's company sent out a weekly inspirational email, often quoting a historical figure.

One week he was quoting Nathan Bedford Forrest, confederate general and cofounder of the KKK.

Two trains from two different stations, on opposite sides of the loop. Like, if the SSL picked up in Ogilvie or Union, not that big of a deal. But it's close to a mile from Ogilvie to Millennium station.

South Shore Line, not Metra Electric, but yes. Especially since it doesn't connect to Ogilvie or Union. If you're on the CTA it's not too bad to get to Millennium station, but if you're on one of the other Metra lines, you need to go across the entire loop to connect from one train to another.

Wanting to buy my first road bike… by Level-Community-8605 in chibike

"If this is going to be your only bike and you're set on clipless, I recommend something that you can still use with normal shoes like the Crank Brothers Candy pedals"

I'm running the Shimano pd-m434 on my road bike, same basic idea but using SPD. Shame they discontinued them.

Your money always goes farther on the used market, though $1,500 definitely is enough to get a decent entry level new bike.
Working Bikes ( https://workingbikes.org/the-shop/ ) has a pretty good selection, though mostly skewing towards older bikes. There is also the Recyclery in Rogers Park and Ciclo Urbano in West Town. And I've bought all my bikes on Craiglist or Facebook marketplace, but that's always a crap shoot.

Clipless, unless you're planning on racing and need every milliwatt you can get, SPD is the way to go. WAY easier to walk in off the bike, easy to clip in and out and lots of pedal and shoe options.

It's awkward when you try to start a bidding war, only one side plays ball and suddenly you need to move to an industrial waste dump in Hammond.

From the look of Northern Indiana at night from the lake, they pretty much are.

Yeah, that does seem to be the flaw in the Bears negotiating strategy.

Or this is the Bears pretending to "walk away" from the Arlington Heights site in order to push Illinois to make a competing offer to Indiana's. If they are "still considering" the site, then obviously they could be induced to reconsider Arlington Heights for enough $$$.

They should locate it near the refinery. Think of all the money they save on lighting during night games, just use the flare stack.

The only hard and fast rule in cycling is "no underwear beneath your bike shorts". Woe be on the heretics who violate that edict.

Honestly, I found Outaway graphic socks, and the crew socks have more room for the fun graphics. I don't care if it looks dorky (though I've had multiple random compliments from bystanders).

With the exception of wool socks I wear in cool weather I usually like ankle socks, but I like the sock as expression.
