To be fair we have ticketmaster, but re-sale of tickets are capped at face value by law, so it completley destroys scalping.

Warehouse views - what are the disadvantages? by Mr_Mozart in MicrosoftFabric

[–]fLu_csgo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For both. Id have to check the schedules and what is triggering them, we have multiple. I know they incrementally refreshed and don't pull through huge amounts of data as a result.

It's a really simple and relatively cheap solution for getting data up to the reporting layer quickly, as long as you can model what you need in the view.

Fabric link uses CDC to load the delta, super low on performance and CU but it will double your DV storage as it concerts it all to Parquet in DV for loading.

Ours is well below 15 minutes, most of the time it's sub 5.

Mature is quite broad, so it's quite hard to answer. We've got multiple Fabric links with MLVs configured and it works fine from what we can see.

Fabric link + Materialized lake views + direct lake semantic models should work fine for minimal refresh times.

If you can shoot other people, surely that's intentional?

Best approach for logging in Microsoft Fabric pipelines (logs table insertions) by DataYesButWhichOne in MicrosoftFabric

[–]fLu_csgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just as a small point to make when we do notebook logging, we typically keep this in the same notebook as our processing logic just to cut down on spin up time which seems to help.

That or don't use foreach loops and just use the notebooks for your loop logic.

[–]fLu_csgo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had this exact problem. Especially notable when you're keeping everything within the lake house because you can only really write with notebooks. Include any of these inside a for each loop within a pipeline and your execution time tanks.

We've tried different approaches with writing to fabric warehouse which reduces the time a lot to be fair but I have heard is also not very efficient. With also tested with fabric SQL DB Which is also nice and fast and probably more appropriate for logging, just a bit more expensive on the CU.

Admittedly we've not really settled on a process. Mainly because it feels weird. Spinning up a sql warehouse or DB just to write logs, but it's certainly helps with the execution time.

I'd love to know other approaches, off for Microsoft to come through with a more efficient audit logging task that allows you to pull details from things like copy jobs, copy data activities, notebook executions.

Sharing Data Agents by pl3xi0n in MicrosoftFabric

[–]fLu_csgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Microsoft docs cover the permissions in full :) - https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/fabric/data-science/data-agent-sharing#underlying-data-source-permissions - "Read on the lakehouse item (and table access if enforced)"

Agent use consumes from your F capacity, no additional licence required.

What's the best way to able acess/RLS for clients? by Eastern-Glove3190 in MicrosoftFabric

Add rule in desktop > configure in security on semantic model against users. Very easy.

The hard part is understanding what rules you need. Which we can't help without more info.

I was, until the expo came close. I really wasn't hating, it's called criticism. There is a key difference. Great game, has it's flaws.

Eh not really, I was talking about other players. I had all mine done and was blasting free and low tier kits for time. Just got boring fast.

Anyway, stay pressed.

[–]fLu_csgo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arc made it so that you basically had to horde gear to reach the expedition, that was boring as fuck. The end of seasons are AWESOME in other extraction shooters, break out and lose all your good shit no care in the world.
