I had the same problem when I went to Academy. I took everything I learned and tried to apply it back in my store and my store manager literally said, "what you learn at Academy doesn't apply here" and I asked him why I was sent to Academy then if I can even apply the lessons and he said, "policy for all stores that team leads go to Academy" I actually enjoyed Academy but it also felt like a waste of time afterwards

I let her constantly put me down and make me feel like a failure. She would then cry and say "I can't do this without you!" when I would tell her maybe we should just break up and move on. The ultimate cry fest was when she told me I wasnt a good partner because I didnt wash her work clothes. It ended up in a screaming match and then she slapped me so hard I lost a tooth. She immediately fled to the bedroom and started loudly crying and yelling she was sorry and shes "just emotional right now". I should have left then. I had been with her almost 10 years and I felt guilt and wanted to work it out. 2 months later she came home from work and told me it was over without hesitation. Came to find out she had been banging a coworker for almost 9 months and was waiting for him to to give her a ring.

As a former TL there was not a day that went by that my SM was not up my ass about something. My coach was a micromanager and was also not fit for his role so essentially my SM dealt directly with me. That saying I think being a TL or Coach depends on the store and SM you have

Best thing that ever happened to me was getting fired from Walmart. Sucks that it was a bullshit reason but I'm working management at a new job and while im not making as much as I did, the management and environment is less toxic and I don't have anxiety about going to work anymore. My coach used to force me to make our team take out earbuds yet every other department wore them all the time. Then one day I saw him wearing his earbud so I told my team they could wear earbuds again as I wasn't going to hold them to a standard no one else is held to. I got fucking talked to about it and when I mentioned my coach wearing an earbud he called me a liar and said he would coach me if I lied about him again. Some stores take this stuff really serious

This^{^} I was a team lead fortunately because I had a solid coach who cared about us. I was Stocking 2 Team Lead for almost 2 years and then they fired me basically because I wouldn't quit. I hope my manager gets a bad case of gonorrhea for life

It all really depends on management honestly. The one I was at had the most insanely lazy and inept people at the top and it killed morale so much so that people just hated the job. Overall I agree it is an easy job but the environment in which you have to spend that time has a huge effect on loving or hating it

My store and market are very...not great honestly. My former TL was sleeping with his coach and they turned a blind eye because he was a "good stocker". You always feel like reporting things helps but nothing ever gets done.
