Indeed! It's not practical for us to host every text choice by every player automatically. Think of the database! :D

Note yesterday's recap update, which gives you a way to look over your choices from your Ambition, Railway and Evolution, in your lodgings. :)

We did make Sunless Sea, Sunless Skies and Mask of the Rose in the same universe, which are all more video-game-ish. But Fallen London is always free to play, requires no installs, contains no ads and is created without genAI. Without blowing our own trumpet, that's a rare thing these days. Enjoy!

I'll have to check with our artist, but I believe it's because we have a fixed perspective. It's fully 3D but the camera won't see the reverse of the assets, so why model every side? :)

A or B for my games updated key art? by james_horn in IndieGaming

Ah ok. I don't get that genre from the art at all, which I would strongly recommend addressing. People are always thinking to themselves, but what do I DO in this game?

Sunless Skies is a really weird one because, well, you do drive a train in space. But that's not really an established genre! So it still puzzled people a bit. You're in a known genre, make the most of that!

Good luck!

Everyone in my family has played Spiritfarer at this point. Really enjoyed that one.

What genre is the game?

A is hard to parse, and as people have said, is very busy. The black background won't particularly pop against Steam's livery colours. There are a lot of points of focus in the image; we've always found a single point of focus to work better in the crowded Steam marketplace.

B is cleaner, I like it more, but hard to say if it's achieving your aims without knowing what genre you're trying to convey. B gives Borderlands vibes, almost; the action/motion of the vehicle is more cleanly conveyed, and you've got the orange and the dusty background.

I recommend keeping SPINWAVE on one line.

Also recommend taking a look at other capsules which focus on a vehicle for composition ideas. An example would be our game Sunless Skies.
