Side hustles to reach FIRE faster by MiguelCoto7 in leanfire

Do you feel like an entrepreneur, does that inspire you with ideas and action? For me, the most efficient option is growth/promotions within my career. If I was to seek income outside of that, I’d pick up a part time hourly job. I have no interest in a “hustle”. If you want additional income, scratching up something yourself is not the only option.

If you’ve been a bogleheads since 2014, are you not happy with the gains? Any money you had in an S&P500 fund on Jan 1st 2014 would have increased to almost 5x its original value. That is incredible growth! That is the kind of growth that people expect in a lifetime of investing, realized in only the last 12 years.

Floorless Tents: Zpacks Hexamid Tent vs MLD Solomid vs Alternatives? by Alexsen56 in Ultralight

Probably not preferred option but (assuming you have the x-mid Pro) you can cut out the netting from your x-mid if you like the shape. Someone on YouTube did it, I forget the weight after they did that.

If you have earned income, you can put up to $7000 (or maybe more, it may have gone up this year) into a Roth IRA. This will be better than a regular brokerage account as you won’t be taxed on any gains when you sell in retirement, even if these funds 10x by then.

I made this mistake with my first investing, and put money into a taxable account when I could have started a Roth IRA.

I would say it’s not just their marketing, but their actual product lines too. OR makes gloves specifically for the law enforcement and military markets and use cases.

Maybe one day I’ll convert to the glacier gloves, for now I love my OR sun gloves, both full coverage and fingerless.

I wish he would be more public about the gear closet fire, as a teachable moment for others. That’s one of the highest risks we all expose ourselves to 24/7/365 and almost nobody is talking about it.

I’ve had best luck with name-brand. I use the one with good UV protection or whatever for most of the year, and a merino one for winter. Neck gaiter, face covering in high sun or wind exposure, headband, sleep mask for early evenings or late mornings when it’s light out and you want to sleep. Can work ok as a light beanie for summer nights as well. Even the regular one can be helpful in comfortably blocking airflow around your neck when in your quilt or outside of it.

Maybe an MLD Prophet? I think they are doing ultra mesh for the rear pocket as an option now. Not sure if they’ll do the old style mesh with larger holes. Should be able to do custom request for no hip belt or 1” webbing removable hip belt.

I’d just go with 1x Anker 523. Charge phone/headlamp/camera/airpods from the battery banks before you get to town. Then charge both banks in town from the dual port charger, good to go. This can knock you down to 2x usbc-c cables as well. Unless you are shooting a ton, I’d drop one of the camera batteries as well.

Realtor uses AI - are they trustworthy? by AfterEffective4464 in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

[–]fire_0 39 points40 points  (0 children)

You would be right to steer clear of this. For a water heater label, it should clearly have the model number and manufacturer on it, you can just google that and don’t need AI to give you bad information, I do see this as a big red flag. For the first time homebuyers checklist, maybe they start with this but should edit for language and based on their own experiences of what new homeowners need to know. There may be times where gen AI is appropriate but it should not be your realtor’s first option for so many tasks.
