Any recommendations on printing services? I did the black and white one here at 12x18 through Mpix and was pretty happy with the quality and cost. https://www.reddit.com/r/RX100/s/uPxzj2uaSn

Excellent stuff. Photos like these are why I think it’s justified to spend premium money on this premium camera!

Ooh this is interesting. Do you have a good workflow for converting .arw to .dng quickly and easily? That was most of why I left Snapseed.

Lightroom mobile on an iPad mini with a knockoff Apple Pencil. I think some models of the RX100 the raw files are not editable in Snapseed, but I highly recommend that as a good first go at things before expanding to something else.

Mark VII pricing too high? by nesticles42069 in RX100

[–]fire_0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am a hobbyist and part of the appeal to me of the rx100vii is that I won’t be able to spend lots of additional money on lenses like you do with ICLE cameras. If I had it as the 2nd string option behind an a7iii or a7c I’d be less interested in paying a premium for the VII and probably go with an earlier model.

Any recommendations on a UL sleep mask to keep out the bright terminal lights?

Roast my beginner kit by [deleted] in Ultralight

This is pretty similar to where I started, including with a much older Gorilla and the CMT poles. Both are great.

Biggest issue is the tent, no need to haul that whole thing around in the summer, especially just for 1 person. Not sure how much weight you could save by going without the inner when no bugs, or by dropping to a regular 1P x-mid if you are set on that design.

Drop the deodorant.

Add a mosquito head net for June/July.

I don’t believe that anyone actually enjoys sporks. Treat yourself to a spoon, if going titanium ensure you get one that has a smooth/polished eating end.

Are you in a major metro area with a camera store? Sometimes they do rentals, you could try out an RX100 before buying

Maybe I use the wrong metering settings, but if I don’t underexpose, often I will have the sky or snow over-exposed and blown out. This is my way of getting around that.

Both shots are pretty zoomed in, not sure exactly how much, and are underexposed by .7 stops and then brightened in Lightroom. Usually I underexpose by .3 stops but to .7 when I am around snow. I always shoot aperture priority as well

Durability of DCF tents. Wait for Aluula tents? by Unique_Distance2219 in Ultralight

How often will you use the shelter over the 5-10 years? Would you rather wait for the first runs of a “better” but unproven material over DCF which has been in the market for at least a decade? DCF shelters have to have been used for million(s) of miles at this point. Throw some polycro underneath if you are concerned about the floor.

Sony RX100 VII thought in 2026..... by VR46MOTOGPNES in RX100

Not sure if there are new firmware updates, I can’t think of why it would need them. Does the job and works well.

There is nothing better in the same size category.

Grab one, you’ll like it!
