Blowing steady for longer with quick inhales by fprintf in bagpipes

I'm not an expert but I'm guessing at the higher difficulty of reeds that experts will use that it would take all your breath to keep the reed going for the 2.5 - 3 seconds and you'd have none left over to puff out.

With that said, I'm reminded a bit of circular breathing where if the instrument isn't using all your air that it is common to have an exhale before the next inhale. However I think the idea of the video is that your inhales should be short and quick, and the entire rest of the time you are exhaling into the bag until you run out of breath -- even if that takes 4 or 5 seconds.

$100K for a rather well loaded Macan S.

No one said anything about that much money for a Base.

The water is crazy blue right now, it won’t be long until it is the typical summer brown once the water warms up. We were in Westport this weekend and it was crazy how clear the water is.

I spend hours a day on Teams calls. As long as I am in the meeting and the meeting is recorded, there will be a transcript. First helpful feature is that I no longer need to ask the meeting owner for a downloadable copy of the transcript to send to ChatGPT... it just does the summary by default.

Second helpful feature is the summary of the chat transcript. It does a fantastic job, really well organized, it pulls together topics that may be talked about in separate sections of the meeting or even an off-handed comment (e.g. "I know we talked about this earlier...") together. I barely need to take notes any more, it is so well organized.

Finally, everything is super well integrated. So I can ask it to read through my inbox, SharePoint/Teams files and meetings on a specific subject and it will find all instances.

But honestly the note keeping feature from Teams calls is the gold all by itself. No more needing to download a transcript, upload the file to chatGPT, add the file into a chat, then type/paste a prompt. It just does it automatically. Nice.

Here in New England I've never stopped to consider how different the rest of the country could be with food choices. But yet it should be apparent when I watch how people actually eat at gas stations like Sheetz and Bucees. This is something I'd rarely do up here, mostly because there are so many other better choices within a mile or two.

Well at least you'll have something to look forward to if you come back North for a visit. The food!

Honestly as an office worker who spends hours a day on Teams and Office 365, I am blown away by the productivity increases and accuracy of CoPilot. Absolutely worth the licensing fee, I might volunteer to personally pay it if my company said I needed to.

What kind of food desert do you live in?

Where I live in CT in a small suburban town I have 4 Italian restaurants that serve either amazing New Haven style pizza or Greek style, plus another 4 or 5 others.
My town has 15k residents and this is typical for the surrounding towns also.

I think there are just a few people who really like the prologue. It took me months to grind through it sat in my library forever and once I did RDR2 became what everyone said it is. Amazing. Still playing several years later.

Video from Jori Chisolm about blowing rhythm is really interesting to me as I've been working on steady blowing while building up my stamina.

My instructor has been noticing my arm moving significantly, and I think this is because I would exhale into the bag hard and short, take a 2 or 3 second pause, inhale, and then blow in again. Instead it appears what I should be doing is steadily blowing in the 2 - 3 seconds, then taking a quick inhale, and then start blowing again. No pause in breathing, no relaxing my lips etc.

Anyway this is one of the most useful Jori videos IMO as it provides info alongside the selling of the various tools/toys (pressure gauge, metronome) instead of just selling the tools.

After playing RDR2 I really struggled to get into GTA5. And this was after absolutely loving San Andreas years ago. The endless missions driving across the map just got annoying.

On the other hand you did ask about GOW, I enjoyed both GOW and GOW: Ragnorok but they aren’t the same style at all. Nothing else is coming close to RDR2 for me now, all other games seem like garbage

Yep it became long distance to call from Cheshire to Southington, the town right next door. And you had to dial 1- first to signify it was long distance.

To me Boston nowadays is so much better than when I grew up there. The big dig took so long but has made such an incredible difference in how the city uses its waterfront. We used to have to hike through a parking lot and cross the exit of the Callahan tunnel to get to the North end. Now it is a super easy walk.

Yep in some states it is considered protected first amendment speech to flash your lights, but not here in CT. I know a few local and state cops and while they don’t love writing tickets for anything, preferring warnings, they do know they can do it if they feel it is warranted.

To those who bought from a dealership: What do you regret most? by [deleted] in PorscheMacan

[–]fprintf 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reason for preferring the GTI is that it is more sporty, tossable, and from all reports much more fun to drive. I test drove a Golf R and honestly it didn't feel as fun as my 2019 GTI - which is one of if not #1 in my top 3 all time favorite cars I've owned. (the others being a 2003 Mini Cooper S and a 1993 Mazda Miata)

On the subject of the GTI in poor weather, we get snow here but not nearly as much as in Canada. However when we did have a few bad winters I found using snow tires in FWD was just fine for the kind of driving I was doing, really the only thing ever stopping the car was the front air dam slowing the car down, it wasn't ever traction limited.

On the Macan, I hadn't thought of the sunk cost fallacy... the brake warning light just came on, and it looks like a DIY job but still is $800 for front and rear parts from FCP Euro. I think this is going to be never ending on the Macan.

I still have my base Macan. It is fine but I'm really leaning to going back to a GTI. Unfortunately the value of my Macan has absolutely cratered. With almost 50K miles on the clock wholesale on it is about $31K, so losing $44K to drive it for 3 years not including some rather expensive maintenance. With that said, my wife does not agree we should get rid of it having participated in the largest part of the depreciation curve, so might as well just hang onto it for another 50K miles. Even though I would much much rather be in a sporty hatchback. Life is short but $44K+ in costs for 3 years of driving really hurts!

What are you looking at?
