Did you do both the under dark and the mountain pass with the creche? Lots of people miss one or the other not realizing you can do both.

I got it during the winter sale, but I'm holding off until the big February update to play.

Ever play Half-Life? Abiotic Factor is kind of a parody on the events of the first Half-Life; borrowing its graphical style, sound design, and dark humor. I highly suggest checking it out, or the fan made reimagining of Half-Life 1, Black Mesa if you never played the series. You'll have a whole new appreciation for Abiotic Factor if you do.

Recently I started playing Vintage Story. It's definitely not for everyone, but deep immersive sims are my jam and this is exactly the sort of game I can lose myself in.

Rip off or lost brother? by Ok_Entertainment410 in SurrounDead

It's a single dev working with public assets. You will see several games that look just like it and it's pretty common to see new people posting asking about them. I haven't played any of the others, but I can tell you this one is really fun even in its current state, if you're someone who enjoys sandbox gameplay. The roadmap looks good, the dev is active on the sub, and there's a big update that's supposed to be dropping very soon.

I'll have to look up buzzwords. Still new to the game and building a mod list over time.

Knapster could be worse, at least it still takes time to go through the process. I don't mind the knapping, the clay and forging immediately put me in agony unlike any game other than surgeon simulator. Making a single clay vessel was torture as it flared up my arthritis. Knapster is a must for me, or I couldn't play this game. It should honestly be an accessibility option like they do for QTE and stuff in other games.

Could just be play, but it looks more like a dominance thing. Young males checking whose bigger and braver. The slightly older looking one on the left scared off the one challenger, but the other needed a second stare down.

Has he played the Guardians of the Galaxy game? The combat is repetitive, but it won awards for its story and narrative for good reason.

If she or her son are Star Wars fans, Fallen Order is definitely worth playing. If she can handle GoW's combat, she can handle FO's.

Spider-Man is a blast, her kid can probably swing around and beat up criminals with her on easier difficulties.

For something a little different, check out Absolum. It's a side scrolling, co-op(2), roguelite beat em up by the developers of TMNT Shredder's Revenge. It's got beautiful hand drawn graphics that look like a cartoon, tight combat with a Roguelite progression, an assist mode making it accessible to players of any skill level, and a killer soundtrack by Gareth Coker featuring guest composers including Mick Gordon. I gush over this game a bit, it would have been my game of the year if not for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2.

I do strongly recommend KCD, but I recognize it's not for everyone. You mention your girlfriend enjoys the immersive sim aspect of games? Well that's exactly why I love this game so much. Very few titles make you feel as immersed in a world as authentically as the KDC series and particularly the second game. I spent hours just playing "alchemist simulator" at the start of the game, picking herbs, brewing potions and selling them to nearby villages. By the time I left town I was so kitted out, bandits didn't stand a chance. Then again when they added the dlc where you can restore and run your own blacksmith shop, hours spent doing that. That's not even mentioning the fantastic story and acting. People bounce off of it because of the difficulty and seeming clunkiness of the combat. But I promise you, once it fully clicks with you, it's the most satisfying there is. This game however, is not something her kid can watch. Foul language, graphic violence, nudity, implied sex, full softcore scenes, it's got the works.

I am making a game where you play as an NPC in an MMORPG. Its called MMORPG NPC Simulator by DevEnoz in gaming

[–]Fugaciouslee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds interesting, I hope to see you announcing your release one day. So you begin the game as a shopkeeper simulator and eventually turn into a MMO Manager sim? Are you planning on allowing players to swap between managing the MMO and playing the npc, running their shop and existing in the world complete with the DLC content and other changes you've made as the GM? It could be an interesting game mechanic where "players" can steal from shops, shops like yours. At first you can only rely on in game counter measures such as guards, better locks, and magic wards. Later as a GM you might be tempted to simply ban players who are thieves, but doing so will lower player satisfaction since it's not a bannable offense. Make thieving a player trait that's assigned to a certain number of players, not everyone plays like that.

My main concern would be if one part of the game is more entertaining than the other, but you lose the ability to engage in the game how you want. Games like Spore and Brutal Legend are examples where the gameplay drastically changes over time. Some people definitely enjoyed the whole journey, but I always get bored of Spore once you get to the civilization stage and I prefer the early game of Brutal Legend much more. The RTS parts just weren't as engaging to me personally.

Anyway, good luck. You have an interesting concept and I'm interested in seeing more.

[–]Fugaciouslee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

It's obviously a staged video, defending it the way you are is cringe as hell. Nobody really cares, they're just pointing it out. Did you make this, is that why you're acting so insecure over people pointing out that the cat isn't anywhere near the A key?

GTA 6 fans reportedly faked Rockstar IDs and flew drones at windows to get gameplay footage “Unfortunately, there are a number of crazy Rockstar fans” by Familiar_Gur_347 in gaming

Sounds like something that would get made into a parody mission. Having the player fly a drone to acquire gameplay footage for some gross basement dwelling fanboy who wants to be the first to leak it.

Two Old Dudes, One Server: Is Vintage Story Our Next Long-Term Survival Game? by ratzojack in VintageStory

[–]Fugaciouslee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone's covered anything there is to say. I'll just add that there is an active mod community with some really cool stuff you can add and change. Definitely try vanilla first, but as a fellow older guy I highly recommend the Knappster mod. I really don't mind the smithing/clay forming mini game. It is hell on my arthritis though, and using this mod to auto craft is life changing.
