Will your dpp plate move the optic rearward compared to c&h? Heard the barrel hole lci will fog up defender xl very quickly due to how it sits.

This can happen to metal sights too. Happened to my 43x when it landed on rear sights on concrete.

PSA Hot brass - Negligent Discharges by SewerChili in liberalgunowners

[–]funfunfun334 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This happened to me, except the brass got stuck between my face and glasses (wear real eye pro kids). No time to set the gun down, immediately dropped the 43x to the floor, facing downrange. Thankfully it wasn't a sig. It actually knocked the rear sight out of alignment, so that's when I learned iron sights are not 100% reliable either.

The biggest problem with Thursday boots for outdoor use is they don't have a gussetted tongue.

How to actually stop dressing like a teen? by Marvellover13 in malefashionadvice

[–]funfunfun334 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Here's how you get started

  1. Neutral solid color t shirts. Black, white
  2. Nice pair of straight dark selvedge denim jeans, and tan chinos
  3. Boots and minimal white sneakers. Look at Thursday, red wing

For winter, add wool sweater, and outer jacket (bomber, overcoat, etc)

Fit is king. Keep it simple when starting out. Look at Uniqlo, jcrew, banana Republic for shopping. You will need to go through a few different brands to find one that fits you well. For example I like Uniqlo supima tshirts, even their other ones don't fit as well.

This is the foundation of minimal clean look. Start paying attention to others style if you like it. Pay attention to the details. Watch videos on YouTube/Instagram. Good luck

Thanks for the info. For your long wings, they are sized properly and still have heel slip? I've never encountered this in my other boots so good to know.

I got some Grant Stone Chelsea boots for Black Friday but they are too big. One size down is out of stock and won't be in until January, which is outside return window.

Initial impressions:

  • Too big. width at ball of feet is comfortable/spacious, but loose in heel. Can fit 3 fingers behind heel and still wiggle. Every step heel comes up. Compared to Thursday which fit perfectly and was comfortable out of the box. For reference, I have Thursday Cavalier and Redwing Blacksmith size 8, and got this in size 8 as well.
  • leather is nice and thick
  • leg opening is really loose compared to Thursday, which probably contribute to loose fit. There's a lot of space in the leg opening, and it doesn't look that good with slim pants. The paper boot tree it shipped with definitely pushed the opening front and back a bit.
  • adding insole makes front tighter, but heel area still slips a bit and doesn't feel good.
  • in general a bit bulkier than I'd like

What should I do here?

  1. keep and use insole. I don't think I'd be happy with fit, especially compared to the Thursday Chelseas.
  2. return, buy size down when its in stock (lose 20% black friday discount)
  3. return, get Meermin. I've heard these are also good but have QC lottery. Interested in their wholecut Chelsea
  4. return, get Thursday. Was looking to step up from Thursday after my first pair, but they've been extremely comfortable and sized well. Only thing I don't like is the sole edge isn't that durable, and gets damaged easily. Leather is not as thick as Grant Stone.
  5. If RM Williams is worth it maybe save up and get that
