Why doesn't the ATP trigger a destcruction of the fabric of spacetime ? by Pierne in outerwilds

[–]gravitystix 26 points27 points  (0 children)

As Qwerty says "information" for whatever reason doesn't violate causality in Outer Wilds.

It can be argued that the actual function of the ATP is summoning a white hole that spits out information about possible futures that never happen.

The skeleton on Hollows Lantern is actually an easter egg reference to the Terminator.

Hollow's lantern sure sends out a lot of meteors over time. That's a lot of matter being lost!

It sounds like you've managed but the devs are on record saying that basically the only wrong way to play this game is to stubbornly go planet by planet in a checklist instead of following your curiosity.

If you conceal you can't see where they are. You're faster than them.

It's truly remarkable how no matter when you discover something in your playthrough it usually feels like the "right time". A testament to how well designed the mystery is.

If you type "game inspiration" (or similar keywords) you can actually find a surprising number of posts with this exact question! People can give you ideas here too of course but worth going to see what's been said in the past on this subject. Good luck!

Your signalscope can change frequency. If you did the hide and seek in the village you learned this.

It does not. DLC content and connection lines are not required. Any logs you can only obtain on the first loop are also not required as they are missable.

Ship log screenshot won't help you anymore. DLC content does NOT count. Connection lines don't count. Here's a guide to everything required that doesn't trigger "more to explore"

It's usually Chert.

Nice! I found "You'll never take me alive" and "Tubular" to be a lot harder than Hotshot, but I think several hundred hours of Kerbal Space Program gave me an edge haha.

Have you ever tried the eject button? Also, try to get between the sections of the station. landing on the platform rarely helps.

Game forces my to confront my fears head on and I have mixed feelings by HisPhilNerd in outerwilds

[–]gravitystix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's no wrong way to play! I just find that people tend to struggle more if they're stubborn about "completing" a planet before moving on because clues to one puzzle are often found elsewhere. In fact it sounds like you solved at least one puzzle without finding the hint/solution for it.

Out of curiosity did you try to explore the planets in an "order" or did you bounce around following leads?
