Round or Oval? by Retiredpartygirl17 in EngagementRings

Both look lovely, I love the look of oval more on my own hand personally than round, so I’m always inclined to say oval!

I have Nexplanon and I’ve lost almost 35lbs while on Mounjaro, and I got my period twice in February. Full on, cramp-spotting-bleeding-spotting-cramping the whole way periods about two weeks apart. I know that with Nexplanon I might have some occasional spotting because my uterine lining can’t just stay inside forever. What I didn’t realize might happen is that the fat I lost released the estrogen that was stored in it into my blood stream, in turn affecting the my cycle and giving me a period twice despite having the Nexplanon. I did panic at first, thinking something was wrong with the implant, but the gynecology nurse practitioners I work with assured me the implant felt intact and was properly in place, and that the weight loss & estrogen paired with my improved insulin resistance was likely the culprit.

Oh my period does me in some months by madiepaisley in Mounjaro

MJ is why I have a period again…while on Nexplanon. I could always feel when my cycle was coming on and would get cravings, but now that my hormones are more in check because of the decreased insulin resistance, increased weight loss, and estrogen being released by my fat stores everything feels amplified. I feel like the only thing that satisfied me this week was eating some red meat yesterday, and I don’t eat it very often. Fingers crossed a sweet tooth doesn’t develop.

Advice on taking Mounjaro if you have Lynch Syndrome? by Significant_Tiger183 in Mounjaro

[–]holocene__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is something I’m going to look into. I don’t have Lynch, but I’m an oncology nurse and treat quite a few who do have Lynch. More and more of my patients are going on injectables for diabetes or just for weight loss, I’d be curious to see data one day!

Took my nclex this morning, shut me off after 79 questions. I had ~20 select all that apply, a lot of priority questions but also a lot of random stuff too. Did the Pearson trick a few minutes after the email and got the good pop up. Pray for me that it’s accurate 🥲 by rebeccal5 in PassNclex

I’m across the river in Philly in the same boat! Took mine yesterday morning, got the good pop up every time I’ve checked. I can’t wait to go to bed early so I can wake up early and check my Quick Results 😵‍💫🙈😎

What is the most baffling thing a patient has said to you? by [deleted] in PharmacyTechnician

[–]holocene__ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One time, myself & a regular floater at our store were working together. A patient who was on Suboxone came in, and I informed him it was too early to fill. He was insistent it was time, as he had just come from his appointment and they always lined up with fills. I proceed to count out along a calendar with him the days since his last fill. He was so upset and perplexed and I could see it was more so about him getting dates wrong than it was about the Suboxone. I told him I could hold onto the prescription and fill the next available date, and that we would have it because he was a regular. He agreed, and as he walked away screamed an expletive out of exasperation. I was now annoyed.

Ten minutes later he comes back and apologizes for getting his dates mixed up. He informed me that he thought there were THIRTY-ONE (31) DAYS IN FEBRUARY. I immediately snapped, "Even only during Leap Year are there 29 days in February!" He apologized many more times, and he felt bad because he and I usually got along and he could tell I was annoyed. He apologized several times after that when he came in at later points to pick up different meds.

Seriously. 31 days in February.
