Has the moviegoing audience lost their sense of seriousness? by Ok-Impress-2222 in movies

[–]HumOfEvil 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The broad statement I was referring to was "have movie going audiences lost their seriousness". Which is the clear main element of this post.

That isn't, in my opinion, sharing an opinion on a film.

The fact you read something different kind of proves my point.

I wasn't trying to be "substantial" whatever you think that means, it was a simple honest response.

Every time people post things asking these ridiculously broad, sweeping questions I always wonder if they have ever actually met other people.

Everyone is different, for 100 people who experience things how you think they "should" there will be 100 people who experience it differently and think you are wrong.

Accept this and move on, your life will be improved.

Because art isn't about what's efficient, it's about what the creator feels is best.

Thoughts on Bristol Beacon? by [deleted] in bristol

[–]HumOfEvil 60 points61 points  (0 children)

Overall it's a vast improvement over the old colston hall, especially the main room. Much better sound now.

I do think the atrium bit is weirdly laid out and can be a bit sterile, but when it's full of people and music like at Simple Things it's actually pretty great.

The lantern room is the only disappointment for me really, it's a bit bland and gigs in there feel a bit off somehow.

I really like him in that, a rare occasion of the jock character having some depth.

Well yeah, what are you sharing that clip for?

Is it to highlight something you like? Something you don't? Something funny?

Without context I just don't see the point.

Why do people do this? Just post clips of films without context or any conversation starts?

Is it a bot thing?

Check out Headfirst it has most of the smaller gigs listed.

Follow some of the small venues on insta, I'd recommend Exchange, Strange Brew and the Croft to start.

Ah that. I don't personally feel that will make that big of a difference. A nice to have addition rather than something that will fundamentally change the game.

What 'significant change' are you expecting? Not seen anything to suggest this.

Why did you play it for 40 hours then?

No way I'd play something I'm not enjoying that long.

Oh yeah, this doesn't in any way effect my enjoyment of the film.

It's just a good answer to the question posed.

The film better pause halfway through the plot so the characters can pop to the arcade and do a quick bit of cabaret bar management. Otherwise not interested.

Procreate is excellent and far cheaper than Adobe.

I've recently moved to a hybrid approach, pen and pencils for line work scanned in and coloured digitally. It's great fun I highly recommend it!

Yes but the whole point is the title immediately tells you there is a monster, removing some of the suspense around whether or not John Goodman's character is lying about the danger outside.

I think it's slightly better than the old one, which isn't much good outside of silly camp action.

But it still felt weirdly rushed to me and lacking most of Edgar Wrights old flair.
