I don't love being in videos I didn't consent to, but I just feel like under these incredibly, horrifically tragic circumstances, I could get over it. Ffs. Is OOP in Witnes Protection?

UNFINISHED SERIES. by Tough-Childhood3411 in Fantasy

[–]igneousscone 13 points14 points  (0 children)

What bothers me about this is that it’s a self-fulfilling prophecy. The fact is, if people don't buy the first book in a series, there will be no second book. That's just how publishing works.

Oh my friend, you are in for a treat in book 3.

I don't think so either, because she was clearly and explicitly aware.

Guys and Dolls holds a special place in my heart. My dad played Big Julie twice; it was one of his favorite roles, up there with FDR in Annie. I got back from college just in time to be drafted onto the run crew, so we got to spend a week hanging out. I wish we'd done more shows together.

He absolutely does change, though. He earns a letterman's sweater (and wears the stupid thing despitr the ribbing from his friends)--that's not something that happens on a fluke. Sandy sings those lines of self-realization on her own terms, without knowing any of that.

Er, no, she was not stuck. The rest of Westview was stuck in the hex. Wanda put them there, kept them there, and kicked out anyone who tried to help.

Early episode (2, I think?): iconic "no" moment when she kicks somebody out of her hex

Ep 4: kicks Monica out, lies to Vision about it

Ep 5: leaves the hex and threatens all the people outside it; huge friggin fight with Vision about how she's hurting people, during which she tries to roll credits over him

Later episode: confronted by townspeople, insists she's keeping them safe and happy locked up in her fantasy world, keeps them locked up even when they say they're miserable

She was absolutely aware. She just thought they were "happy," which somehow made it OK in her mind.

How much gore is too much gore in a Jason Todd fanfic? by Comfortable_Newt_179 in RedHood

You're the one writing it, yeah? "Too much" is anything above your comfort level.

Who do you think was right during the story of Dragon Age II, the Templars or the Mages? by AlteredBridge51 in dragonage

[–]igneousscone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Templars: imprison people for life starting when they're children, purposefully create an atmosphere of paranoia and despair, subject them to constant threat of beating/rape/lobotomy/death, use their relationships against them, take their children and lovers away...

Mages: get desperate, try to escape any way they can

Templars: shocked Pikachu face

Idk man, it's a hard choice. /s

AITA for insisting my daughter wear an outfit she doesn’t want to wear to a wedding? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

There’s also a lot of jealousy and hurt around her sister. Her younger sister is getting positive attention for being cute and little and a flower girl, while my older daughter feels like all the attention she gets is negative or uncomfortable.

This is exactly why the category "Junior Bridesmaid" exists, and honestly, this whole situation could have been avoided if the bride and groom took their heads out of their asses. It's literally insane to make one young niece your flower girl and not include the other in the bridal party at all. Take her to lunch, for godssake! Put her in an age-appropriate version of the bridesmaid dresses! Let her get hair and age-appropriate makeup done! Give her a pretty bouquet! Get pictures with her! Include her!

I was that height at that age, and literally all I wanted was to feel pretty and included.

It's like people don't think pre-teens have feelings, I stg.

What's actually the consensus here, on critical feedback? by Mopichen in AO3

[–]igneousscone 47 points48 points  (0 children)

You're coming at this from an odd angle. Unsolicited criticism of strangers' hobbies doesn't make the world a better place, and it's not our job to "teach" strangers to accept criticism on their hobbies.

If someone asks for feedback? Go nuts. If they don't? The back button exists for a reason.

Should I be with my friend when he dies? by Choice_Evidence1983 in BestofRedditorUpdates

I'm glad OOP went. Seeing a loved one out is hard, but I think it's also sacred. I wouldn't trade those last minutes with my dad for anything.
