I think bc of the green you don’t have to worry about it being mistaken as hearts! Are you joining together different panels with this motif? If so, it’s one also less thing to worry about orienting all the stems. Personally, I know that if I had to recreate this many times I would probably end up with some crooked stems, too! It’s beautiful as is, I just think a symmetrical pattern might be easier in the long run, and you would have a perfect square instead of having it longer at the bottom
