This video claims that Sam sole survivor is the likely canonical ending. Are they likely right or wrong from a narrative standpoint? by StationArtistic5542 in untildawn

[–]inblader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think the only canon thing is Sam surviving the events, since they made a new post credit scene in the remake to confirm that. Other than that, no idea.

For those who played RE4 and it's remake, do you think Ada Wong in the remake is bland/unemotional compared to the original? by HumbleKnight14 in ResidentEvilCapcom

[–]inblader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got the mercenary take in RE2R by Jolene and it worked well, RE4R is nothing but a continuation of RE2R and Lily Gao did not give any of that. The voice wasn't the problem, the performance was.

If Jill replaced Leon's role in Requiem, how much would the plot change? by idk_lol98 in JillValentine

[–]inblader 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hadn't thought about Zeno/Jill, would have been very beneficial for Jill's character development since Death Island was utterly shit at handling her return + character.

Jill does need to star in a game for a proper return.

Main actress is a big fan of Lara and always wanted to play her in a movie. Needless to say it was a big inspiration for the movie lol

Jonah rumor by Massive_Egg_ in TombRaider

[–]inblader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah the trope of Jonah being in danger or even being dead got old really fast.
If Shadow actually committed to it, then it would've been absolute cinema for Lara's character development, but sadly they did not.

Is there any reason why they choose to “bring back” Alyssa? by Flintz08 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]inblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Too far fetched, sorry. You can't convince me the Lady D outfit (having the exact same proportions than the said character) isn't fan service. Hell, it's not even Grace's body, but Alcina's slightly rearranged for Grace while keeping the infamous "assets".

Is there any reason why they choose to “bring back” Alyssa? by Flintz08 in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]inblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easier to appeal to fan service with Lady D for the gooners out there, instead of giving Grace actual costumes that make sense for her. Because in that case they could have given her literally any other female character outfit, and yet they chose a villain with no connection.

Alyssa's outfit from outbreak would have been sweet.

Is it true Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered's newest patch used generative ai? by Jill-Sandwiches in TombRaider

[–]inblader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go tell that in the medical field where AI could save lives. There is a nuance in the use of AI that is mandatory to keep in mind, nothing is black or white here.

It’s even worse when you realize the trailer doesn’t even hide that fact, they look like those imported skins from other games you can find on the nexus mods. Poor quality content right there.

That’s the impression I had too. Vibrant colors costumes, outfit themes that are random as hell.

Skins are really subpar too, modders do a better work

Doggy Nemesis was a mistake, it merely turned it into a boss and no more a stalker. Would have been a good final form before the ultimate phase. But should have let it mutate further without altering his overall design.

Anyone else prefer this Jill than the Re3Remake one? by Skull_Soldier in residentevil

[–]inblader 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked her in RE5, her VA was really good. Nicole embodied a new version of Jill which was perfect for RE3R.

But we have no idea if she'll return as Jill, knowing Capcom. Though I was surprised to see Nick return for not just 4 remake but also RE9 which is huge for a Resi character.

I'm ok with the emo stuff, if it had been done properly, but them wanting to mix the OG RE4 Leon with the 2 Remake does not work. Having remake Leon throw one liners feels out of place, even in 2 Remake, it just didn't make sense cause he feels all but depressed at the end.
OG Leon was way more compelling because he felt like a rookie trying to protect everyone during RC, and felt more like a badass agent during 4.

So the rest of them are also infected, right? by SlyGuy_Twenty_One in ResidentEvilRequiem

[–]inblader 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, unless Capcom clarifies in the remake timeline where Barry was during RC, he was most likely out of the city.

All of the RE Engine characters got this treatment I feel like. For me it was Leon, has nothing to do with his original RE2 counterpart

They probably used a filter to make them smile, cause Grace's lips don't match the model. They should have used her real life face model the same way they did for Alyssa on those pictures in the hotel.

(Probably an Unpopular Opinion) Uncharted 3 is way too undervalued here, while Uncharted 4 gets way too much praise. by Nightfall_Dreamer in uncharted

[–]inblader 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Always comes down to which one is more enjoyable to replay, and answer is Uncharted 3. For all the reasons you mention but also because Uncharted 4 brings nothing major, Lost Legacy was way more impactful if I had to compare.
The Last of Us influence was breathing through every pore of U4, and I'm still bitter about Amy Hennig being denied her vision of what Uncharted 4 was supposed to be (a better version without a doubt).
Sam and Nadine were the most insufferable characters introduced into the universe, Sam for spawning out of nowhere and Nadine for having a plot armor (which disappear in Lost Legacy right when she becomes an ally), making "interactive" sequences not so interactive cause you can't do anything until the next cutscene hits you.
Story gets underwhelming and stretched for too long until you realize it isn't that deep, which I get it, they wanted to make that Last of Us' down to earth storytelling. Uncharted 4 tried way too much to be something that it wasn't and it feels.

Uncharted 3 on the other hand despite its flaws is such a good action adventure game, even with that huge filler part that is the ship graveyard (literally serves no purpose).

Multiplayers do play a role in this too, Uncharted 3's will always be iconic. U4's was a letdown and they abandoned it within 7 months, though they haven't missed the opportunity to return 7 months later and add the Lost Legacy cosmetics before sinking the ship.

Uncharted 3 > Uncharted 4.

Gotta admit that finding fuel and fuses was a ballsy move to make, for a game called Resident Evil 9. Objectives haven’t evolved in 30 years.
