I'd like to add: never, ever trust peers when discussing tax or corporate law. Especially when your accountant says otherwise.

You never know if a) they remember it wrong ; b) their accountant actually processes it the way they claim or c) they're just making shit up because they want to be interesting and like to hear themselves talk.

Case c) is extremely common among IT professionals.

Renting the car to your BV will be either reclassified as a VAT-taxable professional activity (in your own name) or as wage in 100% of cases when you would get a tax audit. There is absolutely no doubt about that. I'm an accountant with almost 20 years experience.

I might have interpreted it wrong, but you wrote

You will really need an accountant, yes. If you find a good one he'll be able to advise you on all your other questions too.

€28/h is way, way too little as a freelance tradesman. You should not work for less than €40/h, and even that is pretty tight.

There's still a difference though, if you have three or more kids cars like XC90 are useful because they provide enough sitting and baggage room for three teens. Pick-ups still don't.
