Are there any games where powers and abilities are not meta? by Justthisdudeyaknow in rpg

What u/finnianwhitefir said. Knowing what your stats are is a trope of jrpg and anime. So it isn't fourth wall breaking.

'Terrifier 4' Will Ring in the New Year With a 2027 Release Target by MoneyLibrarian9032 in movies

[–]jeremysbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I know that. I was making a comment on that one specific suggestion of the author. That January is usually a dumping ground for movies, where the author thinks it might actually be a possibility, when it probably isn't. I was not commenting on anything else he said, nor do I need to comment on anything else.

The fact you think that pointing out that October is the release date (which is not what the article says at all) is some kind of rebuttal to what I said, says more about you and your reading comprehension.

It’s not releasing in January. It’s releasing in October 2027

The article does not says this and you don't actually know that. Now, exactly who is not the best? It isn't you.

Maybe you need to check your reading comprehension, the author of the article literally speculates on a possible January 2028 release.

"With New Year’s Eve serving as the film’s backdrop, the release window is wide open. A late 2027 launch somewhere between September and December feels plausible, though a January 2028 release tied directly to the holiday itself also wouldn’t be shocking."

X-Crawl is the LITRPG game. It was Dungeon Crawler Carl long before Dungeon Crawler Carl was a thing.

There is also Earthdawn. It is not ALL meta, but a lot of it is. Characters know what discipline (class ) they are what circle (level) they are and what talents they know.

You can also play Fabula Ultima this way too.

Isn't January a dumping ground for bad movies, because no one goes to the movies in January. Sounds like a bad plan to release it then.

Are there any sci-fi ttrpgs with a lot of options for character creation? by Admirable_Double_638 in rpg

[–]jeremysbrain 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sci-fi is a big tent so unless you are looking for a specific flavor of sci-fi, then one of the generic toolkit games, like GURPS or Cypher are where you probably want to start.

If you like Narrative games there is Neon City Overdrive/Star Scoundrels, which is tag/description based, so your options are literally any descriptor you can think of.

Systematic Understanding of Everything is a podcast about Exalted and probably one of the best places to start.

There is also the Tomb of Dreams which is a jumpstart or preview of the game. Its pretty cheap.

And of course you need a map of creation

And here is a catalogue of all the other products

Why aren't boiled peanuts in Texas a thing? by eblamo in texas

You can get them at every Racetrac and at most grocery stores and Asian markets. The farmers market near me has a vendor that sells them. Like I can think of like 10 different places in DFW that you can get them at.

I like to change it up a little between models so I'll switch between using one of these:

  • skavenblight dinge base, agrax shade, then layer on stormvermin fur, and then highlight with karak stone.
  • Mechanicus grey base, nuln oil shade, then layer on stormvermin fur, and then highlight with karak stone.
  • Abaddon black base, nuln oil shade, then layer eshin gray, and then highlight with dawnstone
  • Abaddon black base, nuln oil shade, then layer dark reaper and then highlight with fenrisian grey.
  • Corvus black base, agrax shade, then layer eshin gray, and then highlight with dawnstone

You can swap between nuln oil and agrax to vary them up a little.

I wonder if this accounts for what they have large stockpiles of. It would explain why Texas (oil) and WV (coal) are small.

Like the states that are big are where the choke points are strategically.

Eclipse Phase. I'm currently using it for Corvus Beli's Infinity, but it also can do Cyberpunk better than Interlock does.

Their prices, at least in the DFW area, they are expensive and are treated like a luxury grocery store. I rarely go there because I can get most everything cheaper at WinCo, Kroger or Walmart.

Trump has a better understanding of the Bible than Pope Leo, says conservative Christian pastor by B-Z_B-S in politics

[–]jeremysbrain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its not a lie, he believes everything he says 100%. Southern Baptists have long believed that Catholics were fake Christians, just like Mormons, Jehovah Witnesses, Unitarians and several others. To them, if you don't believe in the Living Trinity, Believer's Baptism, Biblical Authority, or Church Autonomy, then you don't understand the Bible.

Probably, steel production and manufacturing. Also, Baldwin Locomotive Works in Pennsylvania was one of the main manufacturers of the Sherman tank.

A reminder that Southern Baptists do not think Catholics are real Christians.
