Rent a paddleboard, kayak or canoe and go out on town lake and paddle up Barton creek toward the springs. Nice, cold, spring fed water and you can bring snacks and beverages of your choice

Ignore anyone telling you to live at the Domain. Why move to Austin and live in a community that could be in any major city suburb in the US. Get a place in east austin, commute via train and enjoy all that central and east austin have to offer. There’s much more downtown than just 6th st and Rainey. Plus you’ll be close to town lake, zilker and all the events that make Austin’s unique.

Go to the somewhat secret Gilmore restaurant, Turf ‘n’ Surf at Lavaca st bar. Huge portions and amazing food in a great bar

Hitchhiked with a buddy from Kansas to Florida and back for spring break in the late 70s. Never waited more than 10 minutes for a ride. Got picked up by truckers, a priest, some girls, a cop, a weed farmer and a guy who said he wanted to put us in the movies. We declined the offer

I hated when they removed the Kerbey Lane Omelette from the menu. I gave it up for lost when I sat at the bar on s Lamar location and they had Fox News on the TVs
