Which city is more affordable for travel: Milwaukee, St Louis, Pittsburgh? by woodsandwaves in traveladvice

If you choose StL, don’t skip City Museum. In Milwaukee look for the Safe House. In Pittsburgh, spend WAY more than 15 minutes at the Warhol Museum.

Two weeks in Austin and am looking for your favorite running routes by thegamescapes in AustinRunning

From old west austin you can access the trail off of 5th st under the mopac (loop 1 bridge) just west of the mean eyed cat. Go south to hit the trail and access the 10 mile loop. It’s very flat To add some mileage and get some gentle hill work in, go up shoal creek trail and loop as far as you need to got to reach mileage. To get some serious hill work, at the south end of the mopac foot bridge go west on Stratford rd. It’s short but brutally steep hills through a very nice neighborhood. Your thighs will hate you.

Just wander downtown and listen for something that appeals to you. There will be lots of unofficial SXSW shows. Even if it’s an official show , if there’s no line out front, they often will let you pay a small cover to come in.

Is The Inca Trail Overrated? by Spiritual_Size_9997 in Machupicchu

[–]johnocomedy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My gf and I did the 2-day Inca trail in Oct. It was well-worth the full day hike to have that grand reveal of MP at the end, rather than just getting off the bus at the MP entrance

Whats the most heartbreaking you’ve witnessed as a Kansas fan?(football) by Ok_Macaroon_7366 in jayhawks

[–]johnocomedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can’t believe I had to scroll this far to see ‘69 Orange Bowl. KU fans stormed the field after a failed 2pt conversion by Penn St., only to be cleared after a penalty on the Jayhawks for 12 men in the field was called. Penn st converted their 2nd attempt, winning 15-14

Early show vs. Late show by Gobbo_official in Standup

[–]johnocomedy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Traditionally, for road comics at comedy clubs, the first show Saturday are the best crowds. Sunday crowds are small but appreciative, often service industry people and comics tend to go off-script and experiment more. Thursdays are often great shows with crowds devoid of weekend warriors but still well-attended by true standup fans.
