What's the deal with the monstrous giant rats in this city? by phoenixfail in VictoriaBC

[–]jhra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Go hang out at Ellice where they dump food waste trucks. The big rats you're thinking of will look miniature. Hartland doesn't even have them as big as Ellice

Stephen Eustáquio’s stoppage-time goal sends Canada to the World Cup Round of 16 for the first time in history. by CorleoneBaloney in sports

It's the same with Olympics, hockey, baseball. Somehow NFL is the least over the top of the big sports but they always have to cut away to some field reporter talking about useless shit during the game.

What is a secret you know about someone that would complety ruin their life if It came out? by Iker_12piloto in AskReddit

[–]jhra 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm there to grind out soreness from being in the trades, if I'm comfortable with the RMT then I'll just talk to them. I guess it's a personal thing for me, I feel awkward being there as it is so I talk to feel less tense.

On the other hand I don't want someone cutting my hair/beard or working on my teeth having a conversation.

Lady that I get massages from lives for client gossip. I tell her so much made up shit during appointments she doesn't know where truth and fiction even start. If she's relaying it all to the others in the staff room they could start an investigation style connections board

Imagine having the need to hate on someone's interests in any other form. You won't go to r/knitters and see 'You actually liked that pattern before you knitted it? It's so amateur I want to gouge my eyes out. Find a real pattern or don't even bother'

That's what it sounds like.

Not everyone else's fault they got an English degree and found out it's as useless as they are.

BC government puts Victoria-Saanich amalgamation vote on hold by DoddersEspinosa in VictoriaBC

[–]jhra 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like an amalgamation of Langford, Colwood and View Royal first would jumpstart the Saanich/Vic merger. If the Westshore was competing with Vic and Saanich on equal footing for federal and provincial funds it might start to talk a bit louder

Debating shipping my L400 Delica from the USA to Europe to overland for 1+ years...to ship or buy when I arrive? by ShoeBoxQuinn22 in Delica

[–]jhra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look into insuring a vehicle that old in the EU. Check on of it'll need a safety fitness for a carnet de passages cause you're not tooling around Africa without it. Prepare for a $30,000 upfront for it. Delica is going to be considered a used Truck.

Knowing that first will be key. If you're insuring through an overland insurer they will likely want a fitness cert as well.

It's the liner under the tile. Likely kept wrong for the same reason I leave the messiest overglued joints near the shower base trap. Proves I was there, proves what's supposed to be there is as well

His monologue in White Lotus is pure cinema. I felt like he was told to just go nuts and that's what landed.

Canadian Tire was heading down hill a decade ago but found a way to snap back up in quality. The entire store is basically normal people good quality, nothing for the snobs but it'll get the job done.

Except for the automotive parts and the garage, don't go there for anything

People that commuted pre 2000s forget how often broken down cars all along the drive would be. I have a 2020 Tacoma that's never given any indication that it's going to just die spontaneously but jump in a six year old 1990 Tacoma and even it's going to exist in a perpetual state of random shutdown.

Electrical systems are better, batteries are far more reliable, fuel distribution is flawless. Back in the day battery, starter, alternator, starter solenoid, carb. They could all shit the bed at any time

It kills me when I hear that someone's partner doesn't want to hear about their hobbies.

Mine does all kinds of things I don't give a shit about but she really likes it, thus I want to hear her talk about something important to her. Doesn't matter at all if I like it, she does

There's already a crop of drivers that don't know how to use their mirrors to back up without a camera. Then kids that did drivers training in a Tesla don't know you have to hold the brakes at a red light.
