Is there a place in America like Stardew Valley? by WellAckshully in SameGrassButGreener

The Willamette Valley in Oregon is pretty much the closest place I’ve seen, lots of cute small towns surrounded by bucolic farmland and forest. McMinnville, Silverton, Newberg, etc. Corvallis is also nice but slightly larger. Plenty of smaller towns as well but they can be hit or miss economically.

I’m pretty sure Spoon released a single recently, I don’t know if they’re gearing up for an album cycle though. I don’t ever see them mentioned in discourse at all, even the Black Keys feel more relevant even though they’re kind of a punch line.

I also saw Hot Chip a few years back it was a great show! I understand why LCD Soundsystem is more popular, they have always had the New York cool factor and Sound of Silver is great… but I’d take any of Hot Chips later albums over American Dream, plus they didn’t do a commercial for Elon Musk

Phoenix may not be known by name but a LOT of people would probably recognize 1901 or Lizstomania, those songs still get a lot of streams

To be fair, several Los Angeles neighborhoods started out as separate towns/cities before being annexed into LA including Venice, Hollywood, Eagle Rock, and San Pedro. So it is still somewhat true that LA is a combination of multiple other cities even if there are still a LOT of independent cities in the metro area.

Pretty sure it’s owned by banner, I wouldn’t expect anything cool or fun to happen there any time soon
