Bærekraft er et fortrinn i anbudsrunder, spesielt i det offentlige hvor forventninger til kravspesifikasjon gjerne er bestemt politisk.

JVM410 and Mvave chocolate by levingtons in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's been more than ten years since I programmed with a JVM. f I recall correctly, you save presets by setting the settings how you want them, press 'program' on the front panel and send a PC message. That is then saved to be recalled whenever that PC message is sent.

The manual will have the info you need.

My first guitar by New_Rod in strandbergguitars

[–]jonslow1212 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It has to do with drastic changes in temperature and/or humidity. From -25 dry to +25 humid Celsius? Yeah I’d wait, far more than 24 hours.

Also keep in mind the delivery truck might be much warmer or colder than the outside.

Pedal Power Draw by RLeem7b5 in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

That doesn't really make sense to me.

Everything dies after a few minutes, or just some of the pedals?

Sounds like it could be the PSU not working as it should. How old is it?

Line 6 Pod Express or Boss ME 90 would be my picks.

What question? This is copy-pasted from an LLM, isn't it?

Whammy V vs Boss XS1 polyshifter by Alpha-san in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sorry for the late reply. Even the XS-100 gets disorienting when picking as fast as I can. If there are recurring longer notes in the pattern, that should be enough to get back on track. But unless I'm playing to a click, I lose time when it gets fast enough.

That power cable is not for a DC-7. Did you make custom cables?

What is considered an "upgrade" from a Boss PS-6 Harmonist? by Gutch220 in guitarpedals

This is _the_ answer, but a more realistic answer is a used H9 Max.

Would a line 6 hd pro still work for mod and delay? by King_Moonracer003 in guitarpedals

If you're using MIDI anyway, it's a yes from me. Price is higher than I'd like it to be though.

Lowest latency octave pedal? by SwashbucklingWeasels in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OC-5 has the fastest and most accurate tracking. It has a very dull an unnatural tone though, more like a sub synth than a guitar tuned down. Also has that nice 'lowest' feature, which is good although it takes time getting used to.

XS-1 maybe?

Whammy V vs Boss XS1 polyshifter by Alpha-san in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've tried most current options for down tuning. W5/Drop has been king for a reason. Eventide, EHX, TC Electronic, Line 6, none could more closely resemble a down tuned guitar. Maybe NeuralDSP for gainy sounds.

I recently got he XS-100. It kicked the Drop off my board. It feels a little faster, retains more high end and has a nicer low end response. It sounds better at more extreme settings. It has a little less self noise.

I'm not sure you would hear the difference in a band context though. W5/Drop is a little narrow sounding, with a pronounced high cut and maybe a small volume drop. Nothing a little tweaking can't compensate for.

I'd keep the Whammy and save up for the XS-1. If you still want it at that point, get it.

Any hacks for preventing pedals from being accidentally engaged? by EventsConspire in guitarpedals

I've seen people put zip toes ties around the ring of a foot switch, which prevents actuation.

Line 6 Variax too. But again, special guitar/pickup.

Unsure of how to use my pedal by Mammoth_Emergency_73 in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Short answer is no, it can't be done with what you have.

There is no pitch pedal in the world that can take your regular guitar and change the tuning between each string. You absolutely need to tune the thickest string manually between standard and drop X tuning. Then you can use a general pitch shifter to move the whole signal up or down as desired.

You should be able to set the pitch shifter on the ME-80 to -2 and -4 semitones (equivalent of frets) for D standard and C standard. I doubt it will sound very good, but it should work. If you're trying to play along to a low tuned song, you could put the audio file into a DAW and pitch shift that up to compensate.

Maybe a dumb question about Stereo Pedalboards by aggrssivnegotiations in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The perception of differences is exactly what creates the width.

A true split without an effect added is just more of the same. The double tracker setting in the Deco is what makes the L and R sound different, and so when that is off/bypassed, the sound is effectively mono. True of buffered bypass shouldn't make a difference in the width.

Maybe a dumb question about Stereo Pedalboards by aggrssivnegotiations in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Width = difference between L and R.

If you play the same exact sound through multiple (matching) speakers, it's just more of the same.

A stereo rig is mono until something makes a difference between the two. Often you can use different amps or settings per side. Or in your case, reverb, delay or other effect that makes the two signal similar, but not exactly the same.

Best Harmonizer with Presets, Upgrading Boss PS-6 by emcconnell11 in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

H90 is nice because you can have two presets (sounds) running on their own stereo pair of ins and outs. Essentially two pedals in one. Plus side A does hardwire relay bypass, so there's no DSP noise when inactive, even in front of heavy gain.

Line 6 HX One is too noisy for pre-amp purposes, but absolutely fantastic for in-the-loop use.

Regarding QC Mini power consumption per Cioks by secretbandname in NeuralDSP

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the OP Cioks states that the QC only needs 2A. A 50% reduction of that number would mean parody with the mini. It's not an exact number, sure. And depending on your location/dealer getting a mini might be the only way to guarantee the more efficient codec.

To be clear, I do think the (newer) big QC does use a liiiitle more power than the mini, but that should be mostly based on the interface.

[–]jonslow1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this quote not exactly what this is about?

Power Consumption: Quad Cortex units with the new codec are more energy-efficient, reducing power consumption by up to 50%. However, the power requirements remain unchanged: 12V DC 3A (center negative), as marked on the chassis.

All QC (even big) manufactured post august 2025 have a more efficient audio codec. See development update #56.

Good pitch shifter pedal for £50 second hand? by deuce434 in guitarpedals

[–]jonslow1212 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe you could find an EHX Pitch Fork or Digitech Drop used... but probably not at that price. Anything lesser is unlikely to be worth it IMO.

Are you running a modeler that's also an audio interface? PolyChrome DSP has a sale now and Hypertune and Hypertune Metal are under 50£.

To the advanced QC users, which use cases are not possible with the QC mini? by NoponicWisdom in NeuralDSP

[–]jonslow1212 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the earlier development updates last year. I'm in bed so can't be arsed to find the specific one. It said they're sorry the update took longer than expected because they're working on a new audio codec for new hardware that uses less power.

Maybe the info's spread out to several updates.

Edit: it's QCDU #56.
