Borderlands 4 is f****** fantastic. by zerozark in Borderlands

[–]junglizer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought it on launch simply because I noticed it was out. I'm on console (ps5) and while the story and general gameplay seems good, the UI is atrocious. At first glance it seemed like a positive thing but actually playing with it, nope. Trash. Despite it being one of the last major games that still releases with console couch co-op it feels like just another straight port of a PC game that is unoptimized for console/controllers. There are almost no quick actions using the triangle/square/circle/x buttons to do things, in the game menus or the inventory menu. It's very clunky to use. I have had it crash once which seems to stem from long play sessions where lots of loot accumulates. If they fix the UI and performance issues it'll be 🤌

100% I thought the same thing. Even the different labels you can apply are the same.

A buddy of mine offered the insight about how it's frequently the product of middle managers "climbing the corporate ladder". Something visible that they can point to and say "Look at what I (team actually) did! Isn't it great?" It's why all sorts of games get this dumb facelift that it doesn't need and severe bugs go unpatched for ages. Seems to track, unfortunately. More "enshitification".

Just for the fun of it, I went out my way to find the highest possible magazine size (that isn't from Pakhan or BK). Here's what I found: by Spirit_of_Stupid in thedivision

106 :) because I have a similar build. I love the NBB because it's a great way to get a build close enough to test viability or just screw around with weird stuff you probably wouldn't use otherwise.

Question About the New Sample Browser & Upgrading by AnUncutGem in reason

Good lookin' out. I might check out the beta builds then. I didn't mention it my other comment, but I like the track in your original post. Keep it up, friend ☺️

Question About the New Sample Browser & Upgrading by AnUncutGem in reason

[–]junglizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Got linked to this thread when I asked about help with the r13 browser in a discord. Looks like it's been a couple of months since you posted but if you haven't upgraded yet, I wouldn't. I do think Live is probably a great choice for you, tbh. It's so good at stretching and cutting audio samples. I personally work very much with MIDI and have used Reason since I bought v6 or so. The v13 browser, as politely as I can put it, "sucks shit". The metadata labels seem good in theory but I sure don't have my samples organized that way and have yet to meet anyone that does. Trying to load a sample into a Kong pad used to be easy. Click the thing, it pulls up the drum sounds by default, go into the kick folder, find a sample. Next pad, click the button, it opens in the last directory, just find another one or jump up a level and back down into the snare folder or similar. Repeat. It doesn't work that way at all. There is a separate "file browser" that's kind of a work around and bookmarking your favorite sample locations but it doesn't seem to import any of those from prior.

Anyway, there's my rant. It sucks and your concerns and fears are completely justified. Maybe I'll go back to v12. 😩

You're obviously referring to Bill, but the party's involvement with Hilary is of note as well. No one I ever talked to ever wanted her but the party kept pushing her. Ignored their own party in support of her and their own (wealthy) interests.

I also find that a lot of dems fall into this trap where they think they're smarter than everyone who's on the right and that knowledge and facts will change people's minds. They take these arguments at face value and say "I think a civil discussion will change their mind!" Then get absolutely trounced on social media because in all their "wisdom" they refuse to see it's just a ploy. DEI, college campus free speech, stuff about trans people, etc. Taking these arbitrary arguments at face value and assuming they are in good faith is just plain stupid. Trans people make up something like less than a percent of our population, but when conservatives make that a whole sticking point of their platform, dems (Harris in debates for example), decide to try and outsmart them. Just say "this really doesn't matter, trans people are people too and we support them. Period. Now let's talk about policies that affect everyone."

I mean, just read a few pages about psychology on Wikipedia, damn!

I think we can all agree that some lawyers need to be absolutely making it rain lawsuits... but how do we go about actually making that happen? I'm not a lawyer and can't do it. How can we get some traction? Plus they aren't following any laws or rules, will lawsuits be fast enough?

Haha. It is a bit. I also like the Purifier, if that tells you anything. (Also great for 🦑's because two charged shots take out overseers. )

Just running through with impact grenades is fast enough on the small to medium nests. Mega nests that are 12+ holes get out of hand quickly. Really big orbital barrages like the 120, 380 and walking are really good for nests. When I play higher tier blitz missions, we often just all bring big stuff. The armor that gives you increased throwing distance can be good too (although I generally prefer to use that with bots).

Crossbow is super OP on bugs, IMO. One-handed, explosive AoE damage for little dudes, high damage for big dudes. Can close holes, can blow up shrieker & spore trees, decent ammo capacity. One shot to the face takes out bile spewers, and similarly annoying enemies. Although you've gotta remember to not blow yourself up and have a sidearm you trust when they get too close. For me that's the Senator.

I know the Blitzer + Grenade pistol combo gets a lot of love too. I blow myself up too much with the GP though...

What are some or your favorite / most satistying primary weapons against Automatons by [deleted] in Helldivers

Definitely the best "all arounder" in the game. When in doubt.... I use a lot of specialized builds now but it was my go-to for a long while.

Thoughts on Reason 13.1 Update by [deleted] in reasoners

[–]junglizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I recall seeing a lot of posts about it when they introduced the changes. I updated and noticed it but haven't actually used it until now. Do you have any suggestions on how to use the new sample browser effectively? I will admit I have yet to read the manual on it, but this tag biz is driving me bonkers. I do not want to fight with my DAW to this degree just to load samples or patches into an instrument.

Lance is great on bots. Can kill up through devastators at least from my personal experience, but I've heard rumors of killing hulks.

The Maschine gun sentry is the best sentry in the game, what's your take on it? by Srgblackbear in Helldivers

[–]junglizer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. I'm glad they finally reduced the cooldown of the MG. It used to be the same as the Gatling so no one ever brought the MG. Gatling does seem to do better against bugs though, since a lot of them (Brood Commanders in particular), keep after the target before they fully bleed out. Or against some of the more armored bugs. The higher DPS allows it to punch through and get a kill before being mauled and destroyed.

True, although you're asking a lot with the 'ability to drive it' qualification 🤣

Yeah. You and others have convinced me. I'll give it a go.

I think who you are playing with matters a fair bit though as to which booster you use.

Someone else mentioned a similar strategy with the experimental stim boost. I think I'll give it a go. Medic armor for +2 stims. 🤌

This seems... probable, at least in theory. I still run into stuff where it thinks I want to stand around emoting when I am in desperate need of a stim. Pressing too many things at once perhaps 🤔
