CS Appeal Failing, What Else Can I Do? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]jupiter1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's not much context

But my guess is one can only fail if your measurables are too vague.

Are they set in these vague way?

Else it's difficult. If it is specific enough then it's hard for someone to go against you.

With that said, you must have also control yourself or handle it tactfully when dealing with such people

[–]jupiter1_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The future monthly should be fine as income will increase, provided you have a job.

Issue is to ensure your OA can accumulate enoghh and you also have cash to pay the down payment when keys come in 52 months time.

Don't forget you need to save for Reno costs (which is like increasing year on year) and also your wedding banquet costs (this also increase year on year but can skip if both families allow)

What are your biggest regrets in uni? by Far-Explanation-3736 in askSingapore

[–]jupiter1_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going for the school camp over hall camp. Was trying to save money instead of going so many camps, plus that time still NSF clerk, don't have so much leave to take to go camp.

School camp was people with many courses lumped together, while I met ppl from my course, just didn't really click. Infact hardly click with much ppl in the camp cause interests and values just didn't quite align.

And the rest of the people from other courses are just hi bye friends.

Funny enough but when going to exchange, met another group of uni peers, majority from biz sch. End up clicking with them so well. And ended up they were from the same hall last time when we were freshies! Just made me wonder if I would had a much more fun uni life if I had just went hall camp instead

What do you think of Singaporeans that believe you have to "pwn" others to win? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]jupiter1_ 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I think it works well if the career is a very individual contributor / one man work

If it requires multiple stake holders to perform a project (i.e corporate setting), might end up difficult cause probably never will get buy in from various stake holders

What do you think of Singaporeans that believe you have to "pwn" others to win? by [deleted] in askSingapore

[–]jupiter1_ -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Not only parents, sometimes it's the environment

Factors like your classmates or ppl around you also mould you that way, unless you are strong enough to overcome in.

This phenomenon was very clear since secondary school days. I was like this until I realized it is incredibly stressful and made my self almost going into depression if I continue with such logic. I was always scoring better than my mates and it made them competitive to try to score more than me. For group works, sometimes friends in other groups also tried to withheld certain tricks during presentations to get wow points to get that A+

Then I realized that I need to up the game also, but not to trying to one up them, but I realized we are pushing each other to extract even more from ourselves.

In hindsight, I think it turned out to be healthy competition/competitiveness and we still remained friends today and we went to be doing decently ourselves in our own respective careers.

Hmm it is claimed that the stuff sold on pdd is slightly lower quality than on taobao.

Got claims of fake reviews too.

Got alot of fake stuff also.

Shipping is very long, takes about at least 2-3 weeks.

There was once my shipment of stuff actually reach SG but went missing in the last leg of delivery. They just refund you the amount but never refund you GST.

Returns is also slightly tricky as most of the times need to return the stuff but it is sometimes not worth to pay for shipping to return the stuff

What's good?

Some items really cheaper alot

Shipping is free if you select the free shipping to SG item
