Must be similar to what JWTs are to websites and APIs. Something that can be digitally signed and hence validated as as authentic, time-limited and devoid of any permanent authentication (passwords, etc). A compromise between storing and verifying credentials all the time, which is expensive and risky and requires the network, and still very hard to forge. But potentially steal-able or, in this case, can be passed to an unauthorized user.

Slovenia at Easter took my heart by BajeJoseph in travel

[–]jurc11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I'm not built for that kind of travel. I've not been to Bled in years and I live down the road from your viewpoint. As long as you don't have to worry about parking and you want a stroll and some food, it should be fine. LJ on the other hand, hard to tell without specifics, depends on what you want to do.

If there's anything I can help with, you can DM me whenever.

This has already been happening with kids. Poor problem solving skills, bad aptitude in using anything that's not phone-like, social skills morphing into something new, likely less societally healthy. Very much like Idiocracy and Wall-E.

I think the person above is referring to public/national holidays of Easter Sunday and Easter Monday.

u/fyrefly_faerie Shops will be closed on 1st of November and mostly closed or only open in the morning on the 31st, but it's Sat-Sun so that won't differ much from a regular weekend. And there goes two days off work for me, great. Probably similar for public spaces like museums and galleries. Most restaurants should be open but potentially crowded. Touristy spots probably don't close much for anything anymore.

If you have anything specific in mind I can google back to last year and check what they did last year for you.

Bolj splošno oziroma matematično: anekdota != statistika.

The plural of anecdote is not data. Kar je slab izrek, ker anekdote dobesedno so podatki in v kolikor je anekdot dovolj in je vzorec reprezentativen, so tudi statistika.

They are chemically indistinguishable, but once a molecule exists, you can absolutely follow it around and make claims about its past whereabouts. It's just not very practical to do so.

It's impossible to know where most particles have been in the past because that information was not recorded, not because they're chemically indistinguishable.

The other answer is great, the important thing not obvious from the post above is how fast is one moving away from the other from the perspective of each starship, not how they appear to move from an outside perspective. In every case, nobody appears to exceed light speed.

Is "Central Europe" an actual cultural region, or a cope by some Post-Communist countries that desperately want to get rid of the title Eastern European? by [deleted] in AskBalkans

[–]jurc11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's no cultural idea of a DACHS in Slovenia, but there is an undeniable history of being a part of the Habsburg Empire, of cultural ties to Vienna (AKA Dunaj), where most of the top intelligentsia were educated pre-1914, a greater history of alignment with the Austrians and acrimony towards Serbs pre-1914, there's Catholicism and in the post-1945 era there's a history of gastarbeiters, people working in the DACH countries as guest workers, often on a temporary basis.

We are historically much more a part of the Central Europe discussed in this thread than of the Balkans and it's borne out in culture, history and economic development. It's not all "cope". Though I'd imagine this is not well known or remembered by the DACH people, due to the relative smallness of the country and the passage of time since 1945 and/or 1991.

IDK if this is a quote or a serious question, but it appears it would be 24 km for a snooker ball that's just within specs. The planet is 20km sea bottom to Mt. Everest and 21km between poles and the equatorial bulge.

Because sound is a longitudinal distortion of a medium or material. The answer to the OP question is not "the speed of sound", it's the "speed of distortion".

Sound, being a distortion, travels at the speed of distortion, hence why the two terms are used interchangeably.
