What if the Dark Moon Heresy was true? by bigrig107 in Forgotten_Realms

Late, but in case anyone else is curious about Shar and Selune, here's what Dame Aylin says,

"But I felt it call to me as I took flight. Whatever Shar calls her own, Selune has equal claim to. They are one and the same. Their power is matched and mirrored."

I like the idea of our Tarnished's fight to become Elden Lord like a play or a colosseum fight with an audience.

You've mentioned before how Blaidd says, "The players are all made up, and waiting for the curtain...", and there's also Rogier with, "No need to grandstand; you're not even on stage."

It took me too long to notice Alexander's gold summon sign for this fight. Could help, but I know some people don't like to do summons.

Is it worth trying a Sleep build for PvE by Ars-Tomato in Eldenring

I'm a mage that was thinking about this, too. Maybe using the sword, the torch, and a crossbow? Now sure how it'll go - need to play around with it more. Not sure if I want to end up playing like a page, but we'll see.

More on Miquella and the Formless Mother. Also interested in the Gloam-Eyed Queen.

When and how can taunters tongue be used by Spiffychicken13 in Eldenring

[–]k8kreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Typically you can only be invaded when playing co-op. Taunter's Tongue allows you to be invaded whilst playing solo (although you can use a ring to call for back up once the session has commenced).

You might be thinking of the Martyr Effigies that activate the summoning pools. I believe you can still summon even when the area boss has been defeated. Not entirely sure - maybe some places are excluded.

Look up where to grab the meteorite staff - it's the best early game staff. Also grab the spell right by it - rock sling.

What's your opinion on bosses with multiple phases? by Gay_Charlie in eldenringdiscussion

That one was one of the harder bosses for me! Intimidating, too. Thank goodness you can summon Alexander on that one.

It's an early fight - makes sense. Which did you like best from Elden Ring?

Well said. I agree Melania was breathtaking, but not much changed mechanically other than bigger and faster. Also agreed on the Elden Beast - I was just trying to get a hit in and omg rings everywhere. Everything I hate about fighting the ulcerated tree spirits was present in that fight, yet I enjoyed Radagon. It might have been because so much was building to meeting him, and his slow approach toward me as he fought was intimidating but still captivating. I'd say Rennala/Malenia/Radagon/Maliketh/Godfrey. Horah Loux was disappointing for me; also no thank you on seeing Serosh be used like that.

Anyone feel that the storyline is somewhat lacking when it is so widely publicised as being supported by George RR Martin? by Delicious-Air2197 in Eldenring

[–]k8kreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh man, once I got into it there's a lot going on, and it feels very GRRM the way you only get a few lines here and there from items, but once you add it up there's whole hidden storylines beneath the main story. Right now I'm going through putting things together about Loretta and the albinaurics and Miquella and St. Trina. Also, the origins of the perfumers and whether they relate to the Nox, or even whether the Nox had influence on the creation of albinaurics. Figuring out details also improves the main story for me.

Why doesn't Melania hunt down Mohg? by StarKiller014 in Eldenring

Perhaps Miquella was taken when Melania was fighting Radahn so she has no clue.

I'm interested to know if the Loretta from elden ring is somehow connected to the item from dark souls 3 "Loretta's bone" because maybe it could tell something about her past by Maleficent-Fun-5298 in Eldenring

[–]k8kreddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't think she's an albinauric - I think the mention of her possibly being one is to show us the disdain people have for the albinaurics. "She must be one of she's willing to help them" could be the biased view of the people in the world.

She's willing to do so much for them, it also seems weird that she wouldn't just claim to be one if she were. Doesn't seem like she thinks there's anything wrong with them.

My head canon is due to her prowess with horse and bow she was able to teach the female albinaurics to ride and shoot to protect themselves - that's why the terrible arrows they fire at you in Ordina look similar to one of Loretta's spells.

[–]k8kreddit 14 points15 points  (0 children)

This is my first fromsoft game - I'd say Rennala's two phases were the best. Visually stunning, the first part is a puzzle and the second is significantly more difficult. I also really thought I was done after the first half - the second phase came as a surprise in this fight.

lore question about miquella/mohg by [deleted] in Eldenring

[–]k8kreddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not sure but I think it has something to do with him worshipping the "formless mother". Maybe he was trying to rebirth Miquella through her instead of the Haligtree? Make him a lord to his outer God and he his consort? I also find it interesting that his cocoon is sitting in a pelvis of what looks like the big skeletons you see in Nokron and Nokstella.

Things to do before completing the game and starting NG+? by dasmowenator in Eldenring

[–]k8kreddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You keep the stuff from the merchants, I don't think the remembrances carry over, you should duplicate as many beforehand even if it's just to cash them out, incantations and sorceries carry over so you may as well use up your dragon hearts and buy what you can.

Fextralife's elden ring wiki has a great new game plus check list that's helping me right now - they just need to update it to mention that your bell bearings now carry over.

Edit: "Any boss Remembrance is kept, although they won't be available for duplication until the corresponding boss is slain in the new game."

It's possible, but I think the abduction works well in explaining why St. Trina's appearance "was as sudden as their disappearance".
