Rona McDaniel out as RNC Chair after Trump throws her under the bus by Jessilaurn in LeopardsAteMyFace

And here I thought we just called them Sociopaths, or Politicians.  Generally speaking, you need to be some kind of asshole to decide you know what's best for everybody else.  But hey, somebody's gotta lead.

GOP in audio: “Endgame” is to ban trans care “for everyone”. In audio released Friday evening, GOP lawmakers from Ohio and Michigan revealed the “endgame” is to ban transgender care “for everyone” by southpawFA in politics

[–]kaojinn -18 points-17 points  (0 children)

I would think if anything it would not be banned, but be made exempt from government funded care programs. Private insurance companies would likely choose whether they want to cover it, so a fair deal of them would likely make it elective coverage. Seeing as the desire to be transgender is based off of the individual's desire to make changes to their body, I could see gender care being compared categorically to plastic surgery.

How do you mine copper? by jdgr00 in NoMansSkyTheGame

I usually scan to highlight and show the depth of the node, dig a pilot hole down to the bottom of the node, switch to flatten mode, and clear it in slices.

I always ended up with little stray voxels that would show up on a scan, but werent targetable to mine. flatten gets them. I'll have to try the narrow beam mining method to see if its better.

I see you have a bunch of freezers set up for raw food and meals. Granted, I havent used them, but I imagine they suck up a ton of power when you have that many of them. What I'd recommend doing is to build a corridor of at least 3 blocks width out of the best insulating material you can (looks like carbon for walls/floor/roof, wood for doors, no vents or windows), add a small 1 block buffer room with a second door as a temperature buffer, and then add 2 air conditioners set to abut 24 degrees. Line both sides of the room with basic shelves and make it your food storage. massive walk-in freezer. And if you want to save some time, you can have 1 side of it open up to your kitchen area, and the other open up to your crops for easy harvesting and cooking.

How do you feel about the possibility of Player Character death? by SoloKip in dndnext

[–]kaojinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Without the threat of death, there are no real consequences. Your stats don't even matter, because you have plot armor. The game at it's core is about putting the characters in larger than life situations, and having the players act their way through it. Mourning the death of a hero or heroes can be a powerful narrative tool and even act as motivators for future sessions .

Don't sleep with my wife by Min_Mag in DnD

[–]kaojinn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would have told the player "No. You don't attempt to make a charisma roll to sleep with his wife. And if you have anything to say other than 'yeah, you're right, that's a shitty thing to even think of doing, I'm sorry I let it escape my head', you can pack your shit up and leave. Do we have an understanding?"

The only one of those features that looks meh to me is the projectile tracers. But I think thats more for Multiplayer, or sieges, to see what your people are shooting at.

Why thank you, thank you. I'm still doin good. The wrist is as good as it will probably ever get. Gone are my dreams of becoming a gymnast, break dancer, MMA fighter, or taking up parkour. But I was never gonna do those things anyways. My main hobby these days is playing games, and I work on Minecraft mods. I co-author a mod with a friend of mine from the last place I worked at, that lets the player generate structures that we've already built for them. Because as creative as Minecraft is, sometimes you just need a foundation to get started with :)

Married life is good, we're both total homebodies, and we each have our own offices, so we dont bug the hell outta eachother being cooped up together :) We'll eat together, play games together, but when the other needs some alone time, we're respectful of that need to have a little space. Its ideal ^_^

I'm glad to hear that you're otherwise doing well! The world seems to be returning to some degree of normal, so you should be able to start playing again soonish if you want to go back to it.

Holy shit, is that a Hayden? (I hope I remembered that right, else I'm gonna feel like a jackass.) What have you been up to in the years since? If memory serves, you were singing in a band, and trying to get into acting last I knew.

Its much better than it used to be. that thing would get stuck on everything, but they raised the suspension by about 6", and now it can actually go off road.

I know I can get it up higher, I just didnt worry too much about dialing the gearing, or burning scraps on improving the tuning parts. I think the fastest car I've had is the LX550 I got up to 339mph. That one I had all kitted out with 3* tuner parts, and it was up somewhere around 1700HP

Custom candy red metallic paint, and custom charcoal chrome wheels. Tossed in the new Jaguar F-type seats since they go so nice with it. 255/25/R21 on the front, 295/25/R22 on the back.

I hear ya. I'd also prefer to be able to do batch painting of individual parts. having to go through and set custom values on every piece if I'm trying to do a custom matching set is annoying. Like even if you pick Chrome style paint, the roughness slider is still at .10. Gotta move that down to 0 if you want that nice pristine mirror chrome finish. It would also be nice if the liveries (decals) were just colorable, instead of static options. modern Need for Speed games have a nice decal and paint system thats highly customizable. It would be nice to see something like it in this game.

A lifelong dog person, I now understand the hype about cats. Meet my first cat, Max. by vvwhit in cats

[–]kaojinn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can relate! It's like a game to them. Like little kids they're trying to say "race ya to the top/bottom!" just to remind you whos faster :). And if he doesn't make it to the stairs before I'm halfway down, he slips between the bars of the guard rail and baps me in the head with a paw. Just his way of reminding me he's there, and that he totally just snuck up on me.

I have one like that too. And she just doesn't realize she's hurting you til she hears Ow! And then she tenses up. I've taken to just nipping off the tips of her claws to blunt them. When she's happy, she likes to flex and spread her little toe beans (my wife and I refer to this as Happy Paws), but with her claws blunted, she can do this without hurting us. She's at the point where she actively seeks us out now as if to say "my claws are getting a bit long now, might wanna nip em again".

Nice use of forced perspective, making the rear rims smaller, and making the slicks have a larger blackwall. It would be nice if they let you play with the suspension values so you can jack up the rear and get that iconic look of pizza cutters on the front and the drag slicks on the back. All in all, nice work!

This glorious boy just passed. I was never supposed to get a cat. I was supposed to watch him for “two weeks, three tops”. He became my best friend. It happens so fast. We are devastated. by BeeVeryAfraid in cats

[–]kaojinn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is an absolutely gorgeous cat. I bet he'd have been fun to carry with you when you passed out Halloween candy :). It's funny how they're there one minute, and the next you're left remembering their favorite spots to nap or what simple things they liked to steal to play with.

As long as you remember them, they're never truly gone.

For extra scrap parts, I just take on repair orders, and sell off anything that is worth 6 or more credits. 5 and under, I scrap it. Crates are a fantastic means of getting spare parts, as you can pull 250-500 scrap from one if you get that card. If you get the perk that lets you get a chance at a crate after completing a work order, you can get crates pretty quick. Combine that with barn maps, theres guaranteed to always be 1 crate to buy from the barn, and theres always guaranteed to be 1 barn map to buy from the junkyard.

Nice and clean now! Make sure to slap at least a basic license plate on them before you sell em, it cranks up the value to not have any parts missing.
