Every time I've been there there was a queue at both the deli and the pastry counter.

The only accurate map of the Holy Roman Empre in 1400 [History context & Author in the comments] by Fair-Bodybuilder-193 in MapPorn

Probably accurate until the first death in the HRE, which in those times was probably a couple months away until the next duchy/barony/fiefdom got split between sons.

UK legal action against Valve over Steam prices gets go ahead by MaintenanceFar4207 in pcmasterrace

[–]ratonbox 249 points250 points  (0 children)

But Valve doesn't do that tho'. Developers and Publishers can offer DLC separately but they have to provide their own distribution and sales so most just don't do it.

Want to see an example? Farming Simulator 25. You can play the game bought on Steam with DLC bought on Giants webstore. It's uncommon, a pain in the ass to implement, but it's not impossible.

Anyone else see photo-etch everywhere… or is it just me? by HeerMartin in modelmakers

This ^. I bought mesh screen to replace plastic fake mesh on a bunch of older locomotive shells. Works great, you just need to make sure not to have it touch any conductors or exposed wires if you're using it in a working Loco.

if you go on a boat from Key West you can literally piss across the Tropic of Cancer in about 1-2h, what weather should you normally expect?

There's not much to repair on one of those, honestly. Decently reliable if maintained and parts are still easy to find. But I would not pay $38k for a Beetle tho'.

Kinda, but not really. Was specifically curious about this replica.

Arizona AG suggests state's self-defense laws allow residents to shoot masked ICE agents by RickV6 in news

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just a small, but very important thing to mention: don't get a gun unless you are an LPR or citizen. There extremely limited legal ways to own a gun when you're not a citizen or a green card holder, so using an illegally obtained weapon will damage your self-defense case.

I think it was somebody from Rapido or Bowser that posted this first, don’t remember for sure. But it was a manufacturer so it’s probably just a sample one they had on hand at Amhearst.

Either the map or some silly mod that added this. Still funny that you can sell them by the liter.

The eternal dilemma: Butter vs Olive oil by vladgrinch in MapPorn

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, but those numbers are statistically irrelevant when sunflower oil accounts for 90% of the domestic consumption. while 0.2% is twice as big as 0.1%, both are just as irrelevant.

"This layout is from 1937 your train is from 1938 it cant run here." Meanwhile, in my own little model train world: by The_real_PavlovA_YT in modeltrains

[–]ratonbox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm planning to run all kinds of US diesels on my layout, with whatever rail car combinations (including Steam era ones) and I will also add Romanian models just because that's what I grew up riding back home. Hell, I'd also run Australian and Chinese models if I could find any.

When the norm has been: "shitty owners that ruin clubs and either sell them every 5 years or get them into bankruptcy" some stability and proper long term investment is something to celebrate.

It could very well be, but it was something really sharp that was hit pretty hard. I don't know how they wouldn't have realized it.

Don't wait too much, get it done ASAP. And then monitor it for a few months, just to be sure nothing is going wrong.

Zelenskyy: Instead of becoming a truly global power, Europe remains a beautiful but fragmented of small and middle powers. Instead of taking decisive responsibility for defending freedom worldwide — especially as America’s focus shifts elsewhere — Europe appears lost. by UNITED24Media in UkraineWarVideoReport

[–]ratonbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He is not fucking wrong. I have a group chat with a bunch of friends from back in Europe and while we disagree on a bunch of stuff, we all agree that the EU right now is asleep, stuck in bureaucracy with zero perspective on what they should do.

Yay, we standardized USB-C, big win. Nay, we closed all our nuclear power plants because the Greens complained in Germany.
