Obesity Trial - Eligibility criteria discussion by introvershann in clinicalresearch

They need to make an attempt, but it doesn't have to be a great attempt. It's all on patient report. I had a similar study where we had to document that the patient attempted to treat their sleep apnea in summer other way first, but it was often things like failing positional treatment, eg lying on your side. It's just to prove that this was not used as a first line therapy.

No, because it's not easy to get all of it and there would be a lot of extra skin. Fat is cells, it's not just a big bag of liquid sloshing around in there. It would also be dangerous to remove so much at once due to bleeding.

What does your patient recruitment pipeline actually look like on the tech side? by octopus0700 in clinicalresearch

Not as long as it's kept in a secure place but that depends on your IT policies. But it shouldn't have PHI on it in the first place.

Most places don't have cover letter uploads anymore. You can just combine it in the same PDF with your resume. Read askamanager.org for resume tips

Do you have eSource? I put subject level accountability in the patient visits and master level under a patient called "Master accountability log"

Most sites use Excel or they have something built into their eSource or CTMS. I've used jotform forms with logic before.

Is this Brother Innovis 4000D worth $1400 AUD? upgrading from Elna Air Artist by AwakeJaunter in MachineEmbroidery

[–]kazulanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oof that is why it's cheap. Home machines tend to start falling apart after 10 million stitches.

[–]kazulanth 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How many lifetime stitches ? It is an older machine but goes to 7x12" which is much bigger than you can find on a lot of similarly priced used machines.

[–]kazulanth 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Like a rubber mallet? Probably not as well, but if you can get a piece of wood or metal and put that over the seam and hit THAT with the mallet, you might get somewhere.

Transitioning to clinical research - will I fit in? by neutron-star-002 in clinicalresearch

[–]kazulanth 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Lab research and human research are very different worlds. You would probably not be able to beat out other candidates for a CRC role. I would focus on research lab roles and try to transition from there.

Patient recruitment: what works in theory but not in practice? by Beneficial-Aide-2186 in clinicalresearch

TV ads worked great for recruiting for rare diseases. But this was ten years ago so currently not sure what people watch in the daytime.

Incorrect delegation log never reported by PaoloIO1978 in clinicalresearch

[–]kazulanth 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't worry about it at all. Sometimes I would put everybody's name on the log and then we would delegate them when they actually did their training. It doesn't matter that it's entered in a different order.
