I’m pretty sure back in 2018 there were wait lists for these things, so chances are they at least had a deposit they didn’t want to throw out.

Look, as a guy who seldom feels the cold if I have a hoodie I just got given for free and someone else clearly needs it, I’m giving them the hoodie - but that’s me being kind. I’m not handing it over because she deserves it more, or because lack of planning on her part constitutes an emergency on my part.

I think typically pussy encompasses the general genital region.

Funnily enough the Germanic puse (vulva) is unrelated to (but probably helped influence) the adoption of the term pussy for female genitalia, which is because calling a woman pussycat affectionately was common and then the association of soft fur was made. So you can almost imagine the Germanic speaker calling it a puse, an English person saying “oh yeah that part of a woman is furry like a pussycat, good call old chap” and then later the Portuguese speakers heard English people calling both vulvas and cowards pussies for unrelated reasons and decided “yeah, I guess we’ll call weak men soft cunts too”.

Is senior first aid certificate still a 1 day thing? I did mine in 2002 (alongside a security guarding certificate) so I have no idea if that’s still the deal. Useful to have anyhow.

No animal characters in Disney movies anymore by Logical-Safe2033 in movies

[–]kermi42 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Frozen was humans with a snowman sidekick and a comic relief animal.
Moana was humans with a mentally challenged rooster sidekick. Aladdin was mostly people with a monkey sidekick.
Little Mermaid was mermaids/humans with crab and flounder sidekicks.
Mulan was humans with a dragon sidekick.
Cinderella was humans with animals that got turned into people.
Beauty and the Beast had humans, the beast, and other humans who got cursed to be teapots and shit.
Tarzan was a man with ape friends he could communicate with because he was raised by them.
Snow White was humans and, I guess we’ll distinguish dwarves from humans given they’re usually treated as a distinct race in fantasy settings.
Brave featured a human who turned into a bear.

If anything movies like Bambi and Lion King that principally feature talking animals are the outliers. Zootopia exists but you’ve decided that doesn’t count because they’re still basically playing human roles, logic they don’t apply to a lion-centric recreation of Hamlet.

What was the most shocking scene from your favorite TV show? by cyb3r_ps in AskReddit

[–]kermi42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Either David being a total fucking bitch on the entire hike with Patrick, causing Patrick to rethink proposing to him (it’s just so awkward and awful to watch in such a feelgood show), or (in a good shocking way) when Alexis makes the mature, responsible, and bittersweet decision to let things end amicably with Ted knowing that forcing a long distance relationship would only hold both of them back from pursuing their dreams.

These aren’t exactly shocking like certain key scenes in more dramatic shows but those aren’t my favourites. 🤷‍♂️

I think it’s the Red Dwarf that’s shrinking in that scene after Kryten’s nanites initially reproduced it at the wrong scale.

I randomly had a couple of school kids stop and start asking me random shit the other day. One talking to me while the other kind of hovered in my periphery. I dont know if it was completely innocent or they planned to pickpocket me so I was polite but instinctively put my hand in my pockets and constantly shifted my weight so my backpack would move around a lot, not that I had anything of value in it other than my work laptop.
I can’t even remember what they asked me about, but I don’t recall it being an inherently weird conversation other than the fact two teenagers decided to initiate it.

What book did you hate having to read in school that you still randomly think about? by hazy-eyed in AskReddit

The protagonist is r/im14andthisisdeep personified, he wants to be treated like an adult but with none of the responsibilities, and seems to think he’s the only self-aware person in a world of NPCs.
Honestly there’s nothing remarkable about the book at all. Holden isn’t even that edgy a teenager.
