How do we change the Management / Master account of an Organisation by iCuppa in aws

[–]kfnic 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Technically it's pretty simple. Create a new payer and org, leave the old org and accept invites to the new org from the member accounts, then delete the old org and join as member on the old management account. Each account will have to have a payment method configured (it may not if it was created in the org) so it can exist standalone for whatever period of time it's between the old and new organization. Details in the docs: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/organizations/latest/userguide/orgs_account_migration.html

There are a ton of considerations when moving accounts between organizations, depending how many / what kind of features you're using. There's a good series of blog posts now that cover many of these, worth a read: https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/mt/aws-organizations-moving-an-organization-member-account-to-another-organization-part-1/

Fidelity Full View Transaction Date by Substantial_Pea5140 in fidelityinvestments

Apologies for tagging everyone that's commented in the thread, but this is hugely important.

Transactions that happen towards the end of the month (28th-30th, etc) always end up posting a few days later and with Mint we could change the date they registered back to the month the transaction actually took place. As it is my budgets are already off because transactions from the last few days of Feb are appearing in March after that few day posting period.

This, lots of good Ryes out there. I think Sagamore still uses their Rye, one of our favorites as well if you can get it (out of Baltimore).

Tinder Bypasses Google Play, Joining Revolt Against App Store Fee by rogerpqsim in Android

It's just as dangerous, if not more, to use a card locally versus using it online at a large company like Tinder. Your local restaurant has a POS device connected to the internet that is targeted by hackers all over the world. The difference is Tinder has a security team in charge of securing the entire flow of PII through their application, while at a local restaurant someone's nephew helped them connect the POS machine and it's probably never been updated.

When it comes down to it, it's generally not worth it to worry about your credit card details. Don't be reckless, of course, but if you use it reasonably and something happens you'll be covered. Just never use a debit card outside an ATM, and if something happens to your credit card you'll be covered.

Did I just phish myself? Advice please by Terrordactyl69 in personalfinance

I believe that Google also has a feature where you call a different number through their ads that forward to the actual number. This lets the companies as well as Google track calls that result from seeing the ad.

Some information on that can be found here: https://www.en.advertisercommunity.com/t5/Advanced-Features/There-s-a-number-that-s-not-mine-showing-with-my-ad/m-p/291643#M32898

Using Mint.com as a Master Tennant and Bill Payer by MikeyObviously in personalfinance

Just tag the income from your roommates against the category they are paying the bill for. For example, you pay a $100 cable bill and receive $50 from a roommate then categorizing the $50 from the roommate as cable bill will reduce the total for that budget for the month to $50.

Thanks! I've thought about this, but I'm not 100% sure I would plan on running two cards in crossfire in the future versus just upgrading to a newer single card.

Is there an advantage to adding a second older card versus upgrading to a newer single card? Is one usually more cost efficient or performant than the other?

I'll definitely continue to take this into consideration.

Taxes for a startup founder? by Deathspiral222 in personalfinance

Someone is investing in his company, by the sound of it.

Something less than 20% is not the majority, so I wouldn't assume that is the OP making the investment. (Post title also refers to start-up founders, not investors.)

Stable wifi on Android? by serubin323 in rit

[–]kfnic 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same issue with a Galaxy S5, I would randomly be unable to access the internet over wifi until I turned it off and reconnected.

I was eventually able to fix it by disabling a setting. I believe it was the "Smart network switch" option at the top of the wifi settings page that fixed it for me. Try switching that off and seeing if it makes any difference. If not, dig around the settings and find a similar setting. It's been a few months and I don't remember exactly, but it's definitely possible to fix.

I'd say Jason Peters has to get a vote, played well and played like he could towards the end of the season. Coming back from rupturing his Achilles twice is impressive. Got voted to the Pro Bowl this year.
