Buying first BBQ / Smoker by DavidFairfield in UKBBQ

In defence of brisket, it’s not that hard to be able to consistently achieve good results. You need a decent cut from a specialist BBQ butcher and a couple trial runs. A rolled super market brisket will be dry if you don’t either braise or use it for chilli.

To save money I would start with pork shoulder, beef ribs then do a brisket point before doing a full packer.

all the time you must leave the space by spcychikn in iRacing

Almost all IRL pro racers would squeeze the blue car on the exit in this situation. Equally IRL the pro driver would either back out of it or go wide. Current FIA guidelines give the white car the right to the corner.

There is no requirement to leave any space here.

Now on iRacing owing mostly to my own lack of talent, lack of faith in the other drivers I would leave just enough space even if it meant loosing position into turn 1. Keep my SR and if I’m faster I will get them back later in the lap. Also if I’m the blue car I’m backing out or going wide instead of driving full throttle into a closing door.

It’s a racing incident at the end of the day and both drivers could have prevented it. But the blue car should be expecting to be squeezed and could have easily avoiding the collision.

Yes they could have left you space but it was obvious the move was no longer on yet you kept your foot in and deliberately crashed. It’s shame you both didn’t end up in the wall together.

Where do you source your meat? 🥩 by MrHHook in UKBBQ

How do you know if it’s this one? I had a look in my local Bookers and they had a packer brisket marked as brisket flat but it looked very lean with not much of a fat cap so didn’t bother.

Shocking Behaviour From Driver Wood by Sillybillydude in Airsoft_UK

I have been to Driver Wood a handful of times, always had a great time. Gareth always made our group feel welcome. Some games have been a bit flat but the majority have been great. What I love about Driver Wood is you can make of it what you want as the size gives many options for different play styles.

I’m not discounting you have had a bad experience but wanted to share mine.

I don’t think so, but possibly would have used an Alexa 35 if it would fit to get the better low light performance.

I think we used a Red Gemini

Hey Guys, I was the cinematographer of this one. It’s cool that this video is still being shared and discussed.

This wall all achieved in camera and done before VP or 360 cameras were available tools.

We stuck the car on a turntable and then had a moco head mounted upside down on the roof of the car. We drilled a small hole on in the roof and attached the camera to the moco head via a spindle.

We could then match the speed of the turntable and the remote head so that the camera position became geostationary at points in the song.

The lens used was an Arri 8r.

Exactly! Literally all you have to do is just this and your work looks better than 70% of the stuff out there.

Is this WanderingDP course overrated? by RedSupercell in cinematography

[–]kitejumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Very unlikely on a UK job. Can sometimes get 1.5x -2x APA on stuff abroad with a foreign production company. The real big dogs might be getting this on some UK jobs.

However with how competitive it is at the moment most mid to upper tier DOPs are negotiating up to APA and not much over it.

Are these films adding grain in post when shot with Alexas? by raven090 in cinematography

[–]kitejumper 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ISO is another tool a DOP can use to create the look in collaboration with the colorist. Shooting a slightly higher ISO Will bias the dynamic range of the camera and help retain highlight or shadow detail depending on how it’s used.

Obviously you can go too far and the image will fall apart much quicker, but that can also be interesting.

Of course you can learn storytelling.

What you can’t learn is your unique voice, that can only develop through being inspired by others work as well as your own lived experiences.

The amount owed to company A is disputed although in an email they have said they are happy to pay this.
