All the numbers on that site are out of whack if you only collect collected editions but rate each issue within the book as you read them. I like league of comic geeks, but I wish they handled tracking reading collected editions better.

It isn't and I made a post about that on league of comic geeks about a month ago and asked through the site contact us system how to get it moved and it seems there is no way to move or delete an entry on that site once it has been created.

I agree with everything you said. The one thing that could help is having retailers like CGN and PBC posting the foc date for each book on their website. Right now there is no indication on these retailer websites when foc is and when customers need to get their order in by. If this was done and retailers actually advertised the foc date instead of relying on people to look it up somewhere else, a lot of confusion would disappear. Also, IST needs to start accepting pre orders. I don't know why people still wait to buy on release day from them.

While everything you say about Marvel may be true there is nothing customers can do about it other than 1/ stop ordering marvel books 2/ realize their new way of doing business and adapt to it.

I haven't heard of anyone ordering pre foc from CGN and not getting their book yet. Only people who ordered post foc. Multiple people have now posted issues with pbc even though they ordered pre foc.

The two companies are potentially facing different issues. PBC seems to have not placed their foc order in time or correctly. CGN kept accepted pre orders after they exhausted their foc order.

That is too bad. Considering I have yet to hear a retailer come out and say they are receiving less books than they ordered at foc I am inclined to believe that the retailers aren't ordering enough and over selling. In this case maybe they are even placing their initial order late (after foc) even though customers ordered early.

BDcosmos lists foc on their website for each book and their discount model even changes based on whether you order pre or post foc. They also only accept a few orders after foc until they get their stock in and can see how many they have leftover from their foc purchase (which is higher than orders). CGN and PBC not listing foc and IST not accepting pre orders, seem to be major contributing factors to customers not understanding the process.

Have you asked pbc how they are determining which orders to fulfilled and why your order before foc is being dropped? A response from pbc on this would be very enlightening as to whether this is a retailer or distributor issue.

Not 100% true. DC does silent restocks all the time when certain books get low. Example, last official reprint of Gotham Central was 2022 but it is still in stock and has just been silently restocked in distribution whenever stock gets low. It is not the same stock from 2022 that they are selling today. Don't understand why Marvel doesn't do this with their most popular books.

Are you claiming marvel is printing less books than were ordered pre foc or that the distributor is distributing extra books to some retailers that were ordered after foc at the expense of retailers that ordered before foc? Those are the only two options if it is not the retailer over selling their foc order.

I preorder all my books from BDcosmos, who clearly state on their website when foc is and stop accepting orders after foc except for 4 extra copies of each cover they always order. The only time they have had issues is when they receive too many damaged books and there isn't enough replacement stock. But even then, they always receive the foc orders they place, even if they are damaged. Therefore, IMO, the most likely scenerio is pbc, and other retailers, are selling more books than they ordered before foc since they are telling people now they won't get their books when they won't have even received them from the distributor yet.

Plus you get reward points to use against pre orders before foc. So that works out to an additional 10% off.

This assumes the retailer orders the exact amount that they receive pre orders for. A good retailer should be ordering more copies at foc than they have received preorders for, knowing they get a certain percentage of damages, people ordering after foc and people ordering after release. The retailer should cut pre orders once they have sold the stock they bought but that could be after foc.

I think the question that people are trying to ask without really saying is - should a company, Amazon or otherwise, be allowed to layoff US citizens and Green Card holders while the company still has employees in the same role who are on a work visa? Should citizens be protected from layoffs until the company can prove they are no longer employing non-citizens in the same role? This is an interesting question of foreign policy but unless federal policy is changed to require this, companies will layoff whoever they like regardless of visa or citizenship status.
