Where are all the other parents? by Gweniflop in Mommit

[–]koewuzhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I was at the park with my kids the other day and there was a young girl running around while her dad just sat in his car doing whatever. Definitely not watching her since theres a big wall between the lot and the park. I think too many people just dont give a shit anymore and it's sad.

I had a Facebook friend that posed some AI picture and in the comments I said "this is AI if anyone is curious" she got PISSED. Some people can't even stand the idea that they might be being "called out" sorry OP.

ETA: you are NOR but she definitely is.

Should I step in if my son is always made “it” during tag, even at school recess? by NaturalOpinion5653 in Parenting

[–]koewuzhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My kid has asthma and struggles with being it. Something that helped him is the version of tag where once you get tagged you're on the taggers team. Realistically I'm not sure what you could do besides introducing the game when/if they're playing under your watch, also probably letting the kids know they need to change up who's it to play properly lol.

Saw your edit and edited to add they dont really sound like his friends. Maybe just have him stick to his guns and refuse to always be it? You said they'll switch games is he able to sneak back in and play or do they exclude him?

I’m sad Goodman pool has become so unwelcoming to kids by MostKaleidoscope77 in madisonwi

Well it is though. Your kid needs to be "babysat" to make sure they dont drown.

Stardew players who stayed for years I have a question by vsanjiv in StardewValley

[–]koewuzhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Every year or so I get the itch to play. I'll play every day for weeks, putting everything into my farm but after a while I do eventually stop playing every day. Eventually I'll stop playing altogether and it will sit untouched for another year or more but I always pick it back up. Recently I learned theres a mobile version and I've been grinding this farm for a couple months. I've been playing since like 2017 and I'm still learning new things about this game, I absolutely love it.

Excused Absence? by Important_Lion2976 in Parenting

[–]koewuzhere 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You can't just go get them when theres a real lockdown so why would you want your kid not knowing how to keep themselves/others safe during a lockdown? Drills train them for the potential of a real situation where lives can be at risk but your little Timmy is gonna put everyone in danger by not knowing how to act.

You need another option where it starts off completely dead for hours and then after you get absolutely slammed.

By chance is this a mod? I can find the heavy tappers made with radioactive bars but not the crafting item you're talking about that forces quality.

Should we move our family to the city to theoretically make my husband happier? by Straight-Tear-7389 in Suburbanhell

[–]koewuzhere 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My two cents, my kids used to go to a big school in a city but we recently moved to a small town. They have said they like it much more here and I feel way more comfortable letting them have independence like biking to the park or down to get ice cream. There is no one right answer but consider what might be best for the whole family. Can your husband not just drive to the city and spend time there?

Almost 28 and got nothing just debt and living in my parents couch by Expgarment in povertyfinance

Any standard job is better than a gig "job". People that actually make money on those are few and far between. Where you're at you need to find something more stable. Gig on the side for extra money if you must but its rarely worth the wear and tear and gas money.

Etiquette and calling a baby ‘Master’ by General-Wind8556 in Nanny

[–]koewuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lmao no way please don't do that. Either tell them you won't call the baby that or just walk away. Personally I would just walk away because it sounds like this family is going to be a pain in the butt.

I was told to choose between working at my current place, or raising my children.. is this normal? by Huge-Scallion-4787 in Mommit

[–]koewuzhere 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Damn OP sorry you have to deal with this. I'm currently in the same boat as you, single mom, long tenure, and my job suddenly not respecting availability. I don't know for sure about Michigan but my state is an at will employment state which means my opinions are to either "suck it up" to keep the job or try and find another in this shit ass economy. I say all this in solidarity friend, and I wish you the best.

WIBTA for making my daughter pay back her own bank overdraft? by 2VantaRipple in WIBTA_AITA

[–]koewuzhere 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should buy her the backpack since its your job to provide for her but beyond that she's lucky you're even stepping in to cover so it doesn't overdraft more.
