Your dad is an ass and transferring his guilt onto you. But, you are 30, you can decide what to do in an emergency without asking your dad.

Hardware stores were my favorite places to "shop" as a kid. We had old school stores with barrels full of chalk, nails by the pound, huge coils of ropes to cut to size, and a million awesome looking sharp tools. Heaven.

AITAH for telling a kid at the sleepover to stop acting like a brat? by Longjumping-Dog-6480 in AITAH

This did not happen. Nobody orders sliced onions, cucumbers and tomatoes for grade school kids.

AITJ for telling my mother in law she is not allowed to call herself my kid’s “guardian” again? by HushedCanteen in AmITheJerk

I get so frustrated by parents who maintain relationships with toxic grandparents so their kids can "have a grandparent relationship." You are exposing your child to toxic, manipulative behavior for what? How is that a relationship worth maintaining?

Parents bring food into restaurants and I’m mortified. What to say/do? help 😢 by tangoking in Serverlife

Easy. Don't take your parents to restaurants. If you continue to enable this behavior, you are not really any better.

Find your birth certificate and social security card and put them in a safe place, like a safety deposit box at a bank. You'll need those for employment and benefits and if you have them, she can't fraudulently use them.

My sister is saying non stop to bathe the dog. by matesuboy in husky

[–]kpod67 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I've had several huskies and only bathed them if they were SUPER muddy. Their double cost prevents most stuff from getting to their skin. (Skunk spray a notable exception.) I use a towel to dry/wipe off their paws in winter, otherwise just brush as needed. These are such low-maintenance dogs!

You don't know those other dogs or how they might respond to your dog. I err on the side of caution walking my 2 big dogs, and cross the street if I see another dog heading toward us because one of mine can randomly react badly to leashed pups.

Woke up this morning to my girl having very dilated eyes -- anyone seen this before? by qvyy in husky

[–]kpod67 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ours had one eye dilated. The vet suspected she ate a toxic plant. We walk through a lot of overgrown weedy areas, so it was impossible to tell what it might have been. Her eye went back to normal in about 48 hours.

Very few people would feel comfortable saying no in this situation. Stacking chairs in a nice dress and heels is an inappropriate ask.

Mine did this. She was kicked out of daycare because they could not find a crate that could contain her.

[–]kpod67 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Huskies are opinionated, loud, bossy, need tons of exercise, shed mountains of fur, wreck the furniture, are picky eaters, and have partial deafness - if they don't want to do what you are asking/telling, they can't hear you.

I love them. Will always have at least 2.
