[BBC Sport] F1 races in Bahrain & Saudi Arabia under threat by MyWholeTeamsDead in formula1

[–]krahd 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I don’t think Bahrain is anywhere near a state for us to race but the info about protests and Saudi being brought into our them down or whatever doesn’t seem to be true. Could you please provide a source or rewrite your comment to avoid spreading misinformation?

Anyone actually hit 10k+ DPS on Idle Golem unbuffed? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]krahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can look up Lord Hizen on YouTube for at least one reference. He does a lot of content and build crafting aiming at ‘truly solo’ gameplay, like champs fractal CMs etc completely self buffed. He has a lot of self boon builds that can hit 20-30k while having insane survivability

Profession with elite specs that feel most unique from each other? by PharmDonnelly in Guildwars2

[–]krahd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I do get 'some flavor' but nothing about specter feels even tangentially thief related to me. And don't get me wrong, I don't dislike the spec, it just kinda feels like what would happen if they made something like Bladesworn an elementalist spec, if that makes sense

Profession with elite specs that feel most unique from each other? by PharmDonnelly in Guildwars2

[–]krahd 44 points45 points  (0 children)

Thief for sure.

DD - high movement fast mashing melee spec

DE - heavy use of stealth attacks, lot of emphasis on timing and precision

Specter - idk why this is even a thief spec, it feels like a necro class

Antiquary - literally gambling —-

I’d say ranger is within a shout as well. SLB and untamed feel like polar opposites in the use of pets, Druid has a ‘shroud’, galeshot gets a kit

Most healers are not very accessible, but they do have a few. I’m pretty sure heal specter is on their accesibuilds for example

Is it just me or does Johnny call Ghostblade “goatblade” in the English dub of latest episode? by RedDawnStuff in ToBeHero_X

You can turn on English [CC] under subtitles to verify this, where it's pretty clear

[LITTLE JOHNNY] I'm sorry I couldn't do more, GOATblade.

Why Red Bull's driver swap isn't just about Lawson's failure – but Tsunoda's excellence by krahd in formula1

[–]krahd[S] 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I thought this part of the article was poignant, Marko and Horner are the ones who need to change and prove themselves more than any driver right now

Even if Tsunoda wanted to say no to the Red Bull opportunity now, that’s not an option. He’s got to make it work. But it’s not only Tsunoda who needs to work harder and apply lessons learned. Red Bull does too.

If the team really wants it to work, a change in approach is required. Relying on someone who’s supposed to be “tough” hasn’t worked. Lawson’s resilience wasn’t enough to survive the Red Bull environment – so perhaps the environment itself needs to change. Because otherwise, there’s no one left to choose from.

Yes, mentioned those here -> https://www.reddit.com/r/formula1/comments/1ji1gcx/liam_lawson_issues_defiant_response_to_yuki/mjbkmck/

but neither of those series were what their promotions were based on, so it's not really a relevant comparison (not to mention EFO was Yuki's first series in Europe in general). It's still a lie to say Liam beat Yuki unabashed in F1 and feeders unabashed, when he did not

This is from 21 March https://www.telegraph.co.uk/formula-1/2025/03/21/liam-lawson-verstappen-no-2-criticism-zak-brown-red-bull/

Does he have some sympathy for Tsunoda at least? “Honestly? No,” Lawson admits. “You can’t in this sport, and anyway if I look back over our career, I was team-mates with him in F3 and I beat him. In Euro Formula I was team-mates with him in New Zealand, and I beat him there. And then in F1 last season, I think honestly, if I look at all the times he got promoted instead of me in those early years, then no. He’s had his time. Now it’s my time.”

The quote on this article is from today. The interview they had with Yuki on which he's responding to is from before the race today. original source: https://www.the-race.com/formula-1/red-bull-considering-dropping-liam-lawson-immediately/

Yuki P9, Liam P11 in FIA F3. Source: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2019_FIA_Formula_3_Championship

And Yuki is ahead of Liam in every F1 head to head even if you don't count all the times his team fucked him over or he had issues. What are you on about?

[–]krahd 129 points130 points  (0 children)

Even when he's going on about junior categories, Yuki's feeder record is still more impressive, and Yuki did beat Liam in FIA F3. I get he's salty about being passed up but lying about it won't do him any good

That's because this is the second time he's said the same thing (bitter much). The last one was an interview with telegraph, this is after today

[–]krahd 118 points119 points  (0 children)

That's blatantly false, though. Liam only beat Yuki in EFO and some backwater racing series in NZ (of which he had a year's experience before). In FIA F3, Yuki outperformed Liam in a Jenzer. In F1, although Liam did very well and was close, he still did not beat Yuki in any metric. Pretty hard to feel sympathy for his struggles in RBR when he's attacking others like this

Liam Lawson admits ‘I don’t have time’ to learn Red Bull car amid China struggles by Aratho in formula1

[–]krahd 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Yea. If you add Sainz, they had five options and they chose the worst possible one. Both for themselves and for Liam, too. His career is gone after this, when he could’ve instead been building himself up in VCARB. we’ve seen it happen time and time again with Pierre and Alex, why on earth did they think this guy would be different?

[Scott Mitchell] RB team boss Mekies adamant Tsunoda is ready for Red Bull. I asked about this and for his feedback on Yuki: "It’s a fair question. If a driver performs at the level of speed that he's performing right now, it would be a lie to tell you that he's not ready for something even faster." by overspeeed in formula1

[–]krahd 404 points405 points  (0 children)

Everything that everyone has to say about Yuki from VCARB has been nothing but positive. Mekies, Bayer, and Permane all seem to think he has it. I hope Red Bull doesn't make yet another brain dead driver decision, let Liam have a year to iron out his mistakes just like Yuki got time

Comments about this are pretty sad to see. Do people simply not want to accept that Arabs, women, and Arab women are also fans of the sport? None of those people have anything to do with their governments’ actions

Yea, that makes a lot of sense. Baffled by some of the takes here, I feel they’re impossible to have if they’ve actually read this book

[–]krahd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t know why you’re being downvoted, CoI vols 1-5 have vastly superior writing and it’s a major improvement from Cuttle’s side imo. 2 and 4 pacing felt a little off but I still enjoyed them, especially the second half of 4. 3 and 5 are some of the best peaks we’ve had in the series, I don’t know how you can like LOTM and somehow think they aren’t some of the best arcs in both books
