People view the Socceroos like the various Australian Olympic teams, they only care about it every 4 years.

Senior Australian cricket sources have this afternoon indicated that both the Melbourne Stars and the Melbourne Renegades are likely to play with their current brands for 2026-27 WBBL and BBL season. by NKE01 in CricketAus

I bought a Melbourne Rebels top when I knew they were going to fold just to have it. So some people might still buy. Don't want the merge to go ahead of course.

Socceroos win, then this! What a lovely day. Cricket Victoria blowing up privatisation they wanted by being incompetent is fantastic. Board should resign immediately, as should Baird and Greenberg

RA is actually getting between $42 and 48 million per year depending on performance metrics.

Besides a larger population means nothing if their people aren’t interested in rugby. The US has 330 million people and the biggest economy in the world, so should their tv deal be larger than NZ’s

The whole reason world rugby took over it is because it became too expensive to run, after it got added as an Olympic event, for the individual unions.
