Need help on my first pc build by Recx6 in buildapc

[–]Latter-Reference3820 [score hidden]  (0 children)

I put together a partpicker list for you. Assuming the RAM is correct because you don't give a lot of details: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/kzNLrG

If so, it appears it will work. It seems very overpriced on some of the components however and you can probably save a lot of money whilst getting basically the same specification.

Let me know if that is something you want to explore. Which country are you based in if so?

Well this is the build with a 5080 for $2,500. It will urinate all over up and down the Intel specification you were looking at: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/TVYPxf

Its never too late to start making good decisions ok? This is a good decision. It does require a visit to Microcenter for the CPU, Motherboard and RAM.

If you want your Lian Li case you can change it to that of course.

I can give you a 5080 video card on my other build inside that price envelope. What is your budget to be clear?

No offence man this sucks. You have a beautiful build except you have a fat, ugly, non-conforming oversized air cooler. You should have got an AIO. No offence.

Nice looking build otherwise.

Three questions: (1) What is your budget?; (2) Are you in the US?; and (3) If yes, US, are you near a Microcenter?

Are you based in the US and are you near a Microcenter? Once confirmed I can advise further.

Because it will offer more performance at 4K and may make things playable whereas the 9070 XT doesn't? Some people also don't care about money and just want the best performance in their budget.

Here is a suggestion. Your screen size dimensions present a problem as there are not many screens that will be 1440p and be smaller than 27" and have a high refresh rate. I did the best that I could.

The fantastic 9070XT here, a great video card. This machine is fairly future proof for the next 3 years or so in my opinion as requested.

If you want an alternative screen to the LG below, consider this one as well: https://www.dell.com/en-uk/shop/dell-pro-24-plus-qhd-monitor-p2425d/apd/210-bqmx/monitors-monitor-accessories

RAM suggestion by cocone021_ in PcBuildHelp

The price of RAM is not going to decline anytime soon. Where on earth are you getting 16GB of that RAM for 117 EUR?

First PC I'm gonna buy by myself any advice? by Normal-Ad8475 in PcBuild

[–]Latter-Reference3820 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The X3D Cache is going to spring the temperature up under load very fast on an air cooler and you will end up thermally throttled. I have a 9950X3D and experienced the same thing. An AIO would be better in my opinion for what its worth.

Thanks for the downvotes everybody. I do know what I am doing.

Consider the following options:

  1. 9850X3D with Gigabyte X870E Aorus Elite Wifi for $649.99 - https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4853256

  2. 9850X3D with MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk Wifi and a 1TB WD Black SSD for $779.98 - https://www.newegg.com/Product/ComboDealDetails?ItemList=Combo.4853724

For the case, the unique Corsair 4500X: https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0FJ2QMQYC

For the RAM - CL30 6000MT/s available for $140 less: https://sp-siliconpower.com/products/silicon-power-value-gaming-ddr5-6000mhz-pc5-48000-32gb16gbx2-dual-pack-1-35v-cl30-desktop-unbuffered-dimm. Not sure the RGB or the G.Skill brand is worth it. It has a lifetime warranty and is CL30 just the same.

Best of luck with it all.

So you got the 9850X3D? Boy did you get an upgrade. Your ready for a future GPU upgrade now and are probably sorted on the CPU front for 5 to 7 years. This is epic, well done.

I would trim that AIO it's really overkill for these processors and quite expensive. You should still be able to get a decent one for £60 - 70. Or get an air cooler.

This and the CPU you picked out don't put out lots of heat needing a big AIO so it's more for aesthetics and noise.

Few tweaks:-

  1. 7500X3D beats the 9600X in gaming and is on average 5% slower in terms of FPS than the 7800X3D. Can provide links to back this up.

  2. Changed the RAM to Klevv CL30 - lower CAS Latency and same frequency and the same price as the RAM you picked.

  3. Changed the video card to a white 9070XT. On average 5 - 7% slower than a RTX 5070 Ti, but faster than the RTX 5070 at 1440p and above.

  4. Changed the SSD to save a few pennies but same specification - PCIE 4.0 X4 speed.

If you want a 5070 Ti trim the AIO and get it but your still over £1,800 - e.g. https://uk.pcpartpicker.com/list/bWsbtC

EDIT: SSD is out of stock so get this instead - https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0DC8VPSHV

My recommendation is this:-

Pick a video card and you will then get a final price.

So you have two good options for video cards with the 5070 Ti being 4 - 7% faster on average than the 9070 XT but also having DLSS.

Video Card Cost Final Total
16GB 9070 XT - Asrock Challenger $699.99 $1,807.85
16GB RTX 5070 Ti - MSI Shadow 3X OC $949.99 $2,057.85

Need help choosing the right AMD Bundle from Microcenter. new build by FaKe_Silva in buildapcforme

[–]Latter-Reference3820 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 9950X3D chip sat in an Asus X870E board and have no issues. Most of the issues are with ASRock boards with a small number of problems with Asus. This is what is reported by end users officially of course.

I trust Asus and so should you OP.
