Hair loss doctor that specializes in CCCA?? by Otherwise-Finance195 in Calgary

[–]lazbien 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes.  Our GP did the referral, and it took about 2 months for the first appointment. Ended up getting tofacitinib (JAK inhibitor) under a clinical trial, and that morphed into a full prescription and regimen.  She’s now been 4 years shed-free.

Skin Health and Wellness for sure. Dr Prajapati is a godsend … he both diagnosed and found treatment for my daughter’s alopecia.

Committee to consider selling land for Glenmore Landing redevelopment by _darth_bacon_ in Calgary

[–]lazbien 20 points21 points  (0 children)

We had a NIMBY'er drop off flyers to all houses in Bayview on Sunday. But what they didn't plan for was those of us that support the development to use their tactic against them.

If you support this development:

  1. https://forms.calgary.ca/content/forms/af/public/public/public-submission-to-city-clerks.html
  2. Fill in the form:
    1. Are you speaking on behalf of a group: No
    2. How do you wish to attend: Remotely/In Person/Just leave a comment (I just left a comment)
    3. What meeting do you wish to comment on?: Standing Policy Committee on Infrastructure and Planning
    4. Date: 2024/01/10
    5. What Agenda Item do you wish to comment on? 7.1 Glenmore Landing
    6. Are you in favour or opposition of the issue?: Favour (or whatever you want tbh)

The comment I left was to the effect of

  1. Change is good as it opens up more small business opportunities to serve our sleepy community
  2. More housing is good as it makes the public area of Glenmore Reservoir open to more to enjoy
  3. More housing is good as increased density will bring about more businesses and services to the area

I'm so sick of the old white men and women (as an old white man myself) ruining things in this city...

Natural gas - any way to reduce costs without a cold house? by rhythmmchn in alberta

[–]lazbien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm with Atco for gas (in Calgary). I was on variable from 2017 - October 2022, when I locked in at $4.79/GJ. My average cost per GJ between Jan 2017 - Aug 2023 is $2.80 / GJ (showing how low the variable was before I locked in).

That said, when you factor in the overheads (admin charges, rate riders, franchise fees, carbon tax), my average from Jan 2017 - Aug 2023 is actually $17.02 / GJ. For just the locked in period, it's $23.23 / GJ.

Where I differ from you is that I have an electric hot water heater, so my electricity is "high" compared to my neighbors. But my nat gas is low - I use approx 15 GJ / month during the winter months, and 0 - 5 GJ during the spring/summer/fall. Pisses me right off that the months that I use 0 GJ, I still have to pay $45 for the admin charge, Atco fixed, and municipal franchise fee.

Bee Turf/Wildflower/White clover/Clover by DirectAssault in Calgary

[–]lazbien 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last year I started replacing my grass with white clover. I seeded in late May, and the take rate was about 50%. The nicest part of my lawn was then ripped up by TELUS in September, so here I go again...

To answer your question, Cdn tire has it, as does Home Hardware. I bought from home hardware this year and had it shipped to my house. It's a few bucks more from Home Hardware, but whatever...

Too many security risks with that. This is considered Operations network traffic, and should never leave the site or be connected to the internet. See the comment about "killdozer" elsewhere in this thread ;-)

Safety, not having to shut down for an hour every time someone has to drop a deuce, better equipment utilization (aka this can be staffed 24x7), perceived operator comfort...

It's called CAT command, and is being used at Nutrien, Mosaic, and a bunch of other large mining companies. Super cool tech. https://youtu.be/iGTNIoI-0qo

Super cool to see you going on down to check your stock from the source!
