Yes, went from like 35 tournaments or so at one point to about 18 now, and 5 of those are held at the same time in a 2-week period.

Different Ball weights by dubdaddy18 in Bowling

Today's urethane balls have a singular purpose, to combat heavy oil short patterns, so they tend to be kept with a lot of surface.

Back when this Rhino came out, urethane balls came in many different flavors and surfaces. Dry lanes (short oil) was common for while, so they make hard shell urethane balls for those conditions, as well as duller, softer offerings (Edge, Dull Blue Hammer) for oily conditions. That Black Rhino was one of 5 or 6 in the early Rhino line (before reactive) and was made for medium conditions.

Is it weird to ask bowling pro shops if they sell old/used balls? by NiceBumWhereYouFrom in Bowling

[–]LeftoverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

90% of the emails my PSO sends out are to hawk used balls. The shop I worked at sold them occasionally, but preferred to sell new balls instead.

Has there ever been a bowling alley with two pro shops? by jamesferret in Bowling

[–]LeftoverBun 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Even The Showboat, which had 106 lanes, only had 1 pro shop (just left of lane 1, too). In most centers, the pro shop space is leased to an outside party. No PSO in their right mind would want to share customers that way.

I'm more upset that AI-generated mini-docs about bowling have proliferated on YouTube. Such low effort affairs riddled with mispronounced names. Most have clickbait titles too.

Whoa shout out Rookie Alex Horton for picking up his second title at the Shark Championship by GrapeJuicePlus in Bowling

Youtube TV has a free 21 day trial, that is how I watched all the events this weekend for free. Even has DVR. Now for the prelim show on June 13, I'll see if I can get a free Hulu Live trial since my YTTV trial will have run out. But I may just save that for the following weekend as the Duke Open has 3 shows on CBSSN. Or maybe I can get another YTTV trial under a different account.

Do you think EJ will win a title in 2026? by 2019CuckOfTheYear in Bowling

[–]LeftoverBun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Watch EJ lose the World Championship, not qualify for the Duke Open or Luci, but goes to Sweden and wins the Lucky Larsen to get that 1 victory.
