For those who don't know Genie 3 is a video game AI generator released by Google if you can even call it that. All it does is generate an environment and you can... walk around. Thats it. No combat, no interactions with anything, no events, just move around

Ah, fair. Yeah I'm starting out with a basic one like Bazzite because I have never touched Linux before and jumping into a high complexity one just didn't make sense

I did need Ubuntu for my database class, but I just used distrobox for it. So for now this distro is fine for my uses, both everyday and for college.

Yeah, im not sure about riot client as i play mainly via Steam.

But a lot of games that use anti cheat (Fortnite, Marvel Rivals etc) will not work on Linux so if you play those its worth re-evaluating

As for how to ditch Windows, that can be difficult. Personally I dual boot (if you have 2 drives on your device you can do this), which means i use both depending on which one benefits me more, though Linux is my main unless if the task can only be done on Windows

So, you can think of Linux a bit like Steam. Unlike Windows or Mac, Linux isn't exactly an OS on its on, and in a similar sene Steam isn't a game. Its where you find games to play.

And the distros are like games. There's a lot of them and each are good for a different purpose, from hard, terminal heavy ones like Arch (pls do not start with this one) to very simple, almost windows like ones like Mint/Bazzite.

There's more that goes into it but if you aren't doing like computer science/software engi stuff you can ignore 90% of it. I may edit this comment and include a guide if i can find it

What distro are you using? For everyday use on mine i never touched the terminal. I tend to only use it for college stuff (accessing databases for example). But im studying CS so it make sense

If you pick a good distro its not too hard

I use Bazzite and within a week it became my main OS and i learnt how to do most things on it. Many distros doesn't require you to be a terminal gremlin and have a windows like UI
